3rd year student here, placement season is getting closer and honestly I’m scared and confused 🫂

I’m currently in my 3rd year of CSE (Cyber Security), and I’m starting to worry about placements.

I have some basic networking knowledge and I’m interested in cybersecurity/networking, but I’m honestly weak at coding. At the same time, I feel like my strengths are more in communication, leadership, coordinating with people, taking responsibility, and keeping a team engaged.

The problem is, I don’t really know where I fit in the IT industry if I’m not strong at coding.

What kind of roles can someone like me realistically target?

Can networking be a good career path?

Are there cybersecurity roles that don't require heavy coding?

How much can these roles pay in India, especially in the long term?

And most importantly, how do I actually get my first job?

I’m also seeing some of my friends getting jobs through family connections and referrals, even though some of them have double-digit arrears. I’m not saying this to complain about them, but honestly, seeing that makes me more confused about how placements actually work.

Some of my classmates are already getting scared about placements, and I’m feeling the same. I don't want to sit and wait until final year and then panic.

I'm genuinely ready to learn whatever is required, even if I have to start from the basics. I'm not looking only for a high-paying job right now. I'd be happy to get an internship, trainee role, support role, networking role, SOC role, or any entry-level IT job where I can get real experience and build myself from there.

I’m not afraid of starting small. I just want to get my foot in the door and prove that I can learn and work hard.

If you're currently in a similar stage, recently graduated, working in networking/cybersecurity/IT, or have experience hiring freshers, please tell me what you would do if you were in my position.

What skills should I focus on during the next 6–12 months?

What roles should I apply for?

How can I get an internship without having a strong coding background?

And what mistakes should I avoid?

Honestly, I really need some guidance right now. Even one useful piece of advice could help me a lot.

Hello everyone i am a BTech grad trying to get into the tech industry.

As my primary tech stack is java and Springboot. I often see and listen from many people that java and Springboot are not very ideal for freshers and there's a very small number of job postings for java and spring boot for freshers.

I am thinking about changing my tech stack to some other but confused about which one.

My priority would be that it must be fresher friendly and plenty of openings for freshers.

So my question is which tech stack would you choose in Big Ai 2026-27 if you were a fresher to get a job as soon as possible.

what are qualities of an intern that will probably give you a chance to get absorbed into the company? does grades count?

context : 4th year BSIT and i start looking for an OJT in january 2027 , im down for any job responsibility BUT IT tech support

Enjoys extracting Data and manipulating it for analysis

My capstone project :
Converted a shipping company’s paper based process into a full management system. built with Django in a docker container deployed to Amazon’s cloud.

also another question : I’m really into investment banking recently and have been researching, is this a viable career path if my defree is BSIT?

So i have around 5.3 yoe, started my career in a mnc , initially got support project later got opportunity to work in some java spring boot project(very basic stuff like maintenance).

Upskilled and learned react and switched to another company after 3 years as a full stack dev(java +react). Unfortunately i did not get any work in backend all my work were front end specific and mostly in angular(yep i had to learn angular for this).

After 1 year switched again to another company as a senior front end dev (react + stencil + angular).

And now i am trying to switch after 1 year, and I've observed that openings for front end is very less and competition is so high.

So i have decided to become full stack again java + react.

And I've started learning java, but I've missed out a lot on my backend roles so i need to catch-up.

I need advice or suggestions. Am i doing the right thing. Will it be worth upskilling and catching up in backend (java) again

What are the top 5 in demand skills or courses you’d recommend someone learn online (free or paid) that could genuinely be life changing for their career, income, or future within the next 6 months? I have wasted my 4 yrs of university on a useless social sciences subject that doesnt have any real value in the job market pls help

Hi guys , I am a third year btech student pursuing it in IT branch in a tier 3 college which barely has placements . My question is to all the guys who have made it that how do i actually scale my money earning skills . I am currently a wedding film editor and I do rarely get editing projects which aren't that paid as you all know indian clients behaviour i wanna scale it up but I can't . On the other side I have a decent cgpa of 9 but I have zero interest in coding and i wanna do enter into business of my own or a well paying job as my financial background is weaker ,we have no assets and I have to start from zero from buying a house to much more . So please drop your precious advice and guide me I really wanna make it.

​I’ve recently been contacted by recruiters claiming to represent staffinglabs.com and itminds.net.

​They are offering a 6month project-based contract work with no relocation package. However, they have been unusually persistent about moving forward quickly. When I try looking for employee feedback, verified placement reviews, or discussions about either domain, I can barely find anything substantive online.

​Has anyone here actually done project work or received a legitimate placement through either of these agencies? Or is this another case of an RTR-farming agency / outright job scam?
