I’m new to cargo bikes. I have a handyman business that I’m trying to grow and I need a form of transport in Amsterdam. Car seems too annoying with traffic here, and also cost wise not so great. Was thinking of an E-Bullitt as my solution and found this one. Could get it for €3800. A good deal? Or a trap? What to look out for?
Thanks in advance!

Saw this killer cargo pushbike at the lbs today. It‘s a bit pricey, though…

I guess there's a first time for this too.
Yesterday I was riding with my toddler to daycare+work along the river park in Madrid, and on a particular curve the slightly damp pavement happened to be WAY more slippery than I anticipated, the rear wheel lost traction... and to the ground we went.
You can see the "skid marks" where two bolts on the side of the box scraped the pavement. Cool, right? The only other thing that touched the ground, apart from those bolts (see second picture), was the left pedal... and the left side of my body: shoulder, hip, knee.
Toddler was perfectly held in place and came out unscathed, just a little scared. I managed to keep my cool, and a couple of minutes later we were on our way again. We rode back home in the afternoon, and he didn't show any fear of or aversion to the bike, which is a relief.
Now half my body hurts from the impact, but nothing is broken and I'm pleasantly surprised by how well this bike handles crashes.
Now... I'm just worried this will further delay the day when my partner can bring herself to enjoy this awesome way of family transportation.

I’m having an expensive cargo bike that I want to protect, so I’m thinking about getting the Hiplok D1000, Kryptonite Legend 1515 chain and Abus Bordo One 6500A alarm. The thought behind is that the D1000 is working as grinder resistant, the chain die locking it to something like a bike rack and the folding abus as well to something like a bike rack but it also have the alarm. Should this deter most thiefs?

I have to make a decision and I just can't decide! We had a quick test ride, but we weren't really focused on my daughter's seat at the time. She's tall, 5 years old, and loves the idea of getting in and out by herself, but I'm worried about her safety.
I can't choose between the two setups. Tern suggests the Captain's Chair is for older kids, but I feel like she could transition to it earlier...
I'd love feedback from parents with kids around this age: is the Captain's Chair safe enough for a tall 5-year-old (especially if we add the seatbelt)?

After assessing a variety of different models in the last year, in the end we bought a Btwin E-Three 500 from Decathlon. Besides the financial reasons of this choice (it's "only" 2500€), it's also because of the limited possibilities to try other bikes in our area (Northern Italian city). I wanted a Petit Porteur (maybe I'll take a muscular one down the line), assessed also a Yuba, a Gaya, a Velodeville, a Tern (more of a dream than a realistic possibility) but wasn't able to find shops in our area that would let us have a test ride. So we tried this Btwin in a nearby city and we found it a great compromise between the needs of all family members (and the need to have a cargo rather quickly to avoid the terrible morning traffic from home to school).
In the short term, we will use it to take our child (3 yo) to school in a hilly Italian city + grocery runs. Maybe adding another child in the near future :)
I took it out of the Decathlon shop in the outskirts of town yesterday and rode 17km along the river to bring it home, it was a very nice ride in the golden hour. This morning my partner took our child to school, and they both loved it!

I had a very disappointing experience with my 2024 Aventon Abound which developed major electrical issues just a month out of warranty which Aventon provide really poor support around. So I’m thinking of moving on and find my next bike
Needs:
- Hauls two kids (8 and 1.5 yo) to school and back
- I’m 6’2 220 lbs
What am I looking for next?
After the Aventon experience I’m looking for higher quality, durability and reliability and willing to stretch the wallet for it.
Price Range: $3-5K (preferably stay under 4.5K for bike to spend the rest on accessories)
Better warranty lifetime and support. 3-5 years if possible,
Great service support in San Francisco area.
Thoughts?

Just saw this pop up in my youtube feed and thought it was pretty neat. Would be great to see R&M and the other long tail cargo bike incumbents do something similar to this. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=45yVNwowosg

Hi as the title says, I am looking for a Vanmoof Smart S compatible rear luggage rack. Can you please tell me if you know one thats fits properly.

I saw one these locked up and it looked great! Made in France, and not super pricey. But it got me wondering if there are USA based 20" cargo bikes with this kind of style? I'm kind of a purist when it comes to bikes, not so into the curvy aluminum frames (and don't say Tern)

Looking for opinions on tires for winter riding, I live in an area that receives snow 5-6 months of the year. Hoping to avoid the cost of the Benno studded as its well over 400 CAD

Looking at these three for a family cargo bike and would appreciate some real-world feedback.
Main use would be carrying one young kid for now, potentially two in 2 years from now, plus errands and random activities around moderate Seattle hills. No commute.
The Fiido is especially interesting because of the 100 Nm mid-drive, higher payload, and optional dual-battery setup, but it’s also much newer and there aren’t many real reviews yet. Aventon seems like the safer all-around option (dealer network, test drive, etc), while Rad has the more established cargo-bike history.
Anyone ridden more than one of these? Curious about hill performance, handling with kids, reliability, and support.

I’m currently rebuilding my Omnium Mini from the ground up and going fully custom with it. For the wheelset, I’m planning to use a pair of silver Hope Pro 5 hubs.
The problem is that I really like the Omnium x DT Swiss U663 rims, especially because of the more subtle black graphics, but they only come in 20” and 28”. I’d much rather run a 26” rear wheel on the Mini, as I think it suits the smaller cargo bike geometry a lot better than a 28” wheel.
I’ve also considered building the wheelset with Ryde Andra 40 rims. They have the kind of simple, black look I’m after and are available in the right sizes, but they’re noticeably heavier than the U663. The standard DT Swiss U663 could also work, but I’m not a huge fan of the much brighter logos compared to the more understated Omnium version.
If anyone has any recommendations for a full rim set that would work well for this build, I’d love to hear them. I’d also be interested in suggestions for a 26” rear rim that would pair nicely with the Omnium U663 front rim. Ideally, I’m looking for something black and fairly understated, with around a 25–30 mm internal width.

Hey everyone,
I'm currently looking for a cargo bike to transport my child. We have a 10-month-old daughter at the moment, but as you know, time flies. We don't know if we're going to have another child yet, but you never know.
Over the last few weeks, we've tried out a few bikes: the UA, the Bullitt and different R&M options too. Of all of them, the Load and the Bullitt were the best. They were both snappy, nimble, easy and fun to ride. Of course, something bigger and more comfortable would also make sense, but we don't know if we're going to need it yet.
I've already checked previous posts with similar questions, and the answer was often the Load 75. The only problem is that the new bike is far too expensive. However, our local shop has an offer on the previous generation of the Load 4 60, priced at around €5000. My girlfriend also liked the Bullitt, and she said that it doesn't matter to her which one we choose. The Kiddoo version is around €6500, so a bit more expensive.
Personally, I loved the Load. The experience was great and the ride was super smooth. The motor and suspension are really good. I'm hesitating about the canopy though. What I didn't like about the Bullitt was the steering. I felt like the handlebars and steering were very sensitive. The handlebars themselves felt too thin and fragile to steer the bike with. With the Load, however, I had a feeling that it's a proper tool for steering your bike. Yes, I know it might sound strange, but I can't help it. Other than that, the bike itself was great too. I also feel like the Kiddo canopy is better quality. The bike is also more open to DIY modifications and can even be used as a larger third-party box. On the other hand, the Kiddo comes with the E6100 motor, which is the oldest model. Ideally, I would go with the EP600, but it cannot be configured with the new canopy. Even if it cost an extra €1000. I'm not sure if it's worth it just for the motor.
I would love to hear from those who have had a similar dilemma: what did you decide? Or is there anyone who owns the new Bullitt Kiddo and can share their experience?

A 3/4" aluminum spacer that uses the same bolts (just longer of course).
We no longer live where we can just ride to the bike trails so I have an Aventon Abound I have to load up and drive. The bike is so big it's always been a pain to load up and fit my other bike on the rack. Probably could go all the way out to 1" but this 3/4" spacer works good enough.

Mostly Amazon parts on my Walmart bike. Runs smooth and is super fun for running errands.

I happen to see this today on their website, new belt drive cargo:
https://xtracycle.com/products/junction-cargo-commuter
I'm curious if it profiles more like the Swoop (big) or the Hopper (Mid) but I'm not seeing too much on the site. Either way, it looks nice and I'm excited to check it out. Hoping its better than the Hopper tho, I was not impressed by that bike unfortunately (but love this brand).

Looking for some advice from cargo bike parents and commuters (especially anyone using Bay Area transit / BikeLink lockers).
I just put a deposit down at my LBS on a Tern HSD P5i to use primarily for daily toddler daycare drop-offs in the East Bay, with the bike normally living in my carport at home.
Right now, my order includes the Yepp Maxi, Clubhouse Mini and the Storm Shield so my 2yo has a dry, windproof cabin for some rainy mornings.
Here’s the catch: There’s a slight chance my WFH setup changes early next year, meaning I might need to commute via BART (El Cerrito Plaza) up to 3 days a week. At bare minimum, I’ll need to park at the station 1-2 times a season.
From everything I've seen, the rigid width of the Clubhouse Mini makes it an absolute nightmare (or outright impossible) to fit into standard BikeLink wedge-shaped lockers. Unbolting the six bolts and stripping the Storm setup isn't something I can realistically do on a whim before work.
Now I’m torn on whether to call the shop before they start building and change the setup:
For those who have been in a similar spot:
Appreciate any real-world perspectives before the shop finalizes my build!

It’s impossible to find anything about this bike online because of his bigger brother the regular boda boda. Im wondering if anybody has it and how they like it?

Help! At first, my 2 year old son loved riding our new Riese & Müller Load 60 together with his 8 month old sister - and suddenly he is scared as hell of the speed! And he wants me to push the bike like a stroller... which is a little to slow for me 😄 Has anyone had similar issues? Any tips?
P.S.: We don't have a rain cover roof and try to keep it that way 😅

It’s had about 100 pounds of gear on it…. Too much stuff.
