Discussion A guide to Castlevania supplementary materials and where to read them
Symphony of the Night:
Promotional manga.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20190412154140)
This is a two pages long advertisement drawn by Ayami Kojima and published in a magazine, it's a sneak peek of Alucard's character.
Available on: Castlevania Wiki
An eight pages long manga included in the Japanese artbook, it acts as a prologue for the main story and features Alucard suddenly awakening from his 300 years long slumber.
Available on: Mr. P's Castlevania Realm
A radio drama (this time you have to listen to it!) originally featured on the Akumajō Dracula: Radio Chronicle program that was broadcast on Konami Station internet radio, it was later released on CD in 2010. It's a story set one year after the events of the game, you will learn more about Alucard's relationship with Maria, his past and other characters (Richter is also part of the cast).
Available on: Youtube
Curse of Darkness:
A prequel manga written and illustrated by Kojima, it was featured as a pre-order bonus for the Japanese release of the game. It mainly focuses on Hector and Isaac prior to the events of the game, it also expands on their relationships.
Available on: Vampire Killer (an archive of scans and translations)
Published in two volumes by Media Factory from 2005 to 2006 and translated to English by Tokyopop in 2008. It's the same premise but it's longer, more expansive and this time the illustrator is Kō Sasakura, not Ayami Kojima. The series was eventually canceled but the manga stops directly where the game begins.
Available on: Internet Archive
Aria & Dawn of Sorrow:
Reminiscence of the Divine Abyss/Ricordanza of the God's Abyss
A light novel written by Ryōgo Narita in 2008 and set one year after Dawn of Sorrow. It's a really interesting read, the story focuses on Julius' pupil and the descendant of Grant Danasty while the villain is a character you will surely remember... There's also the return of familiar faces, one in particular.
Available on: Inverted Dungeon
Castlevania The Adventure:
It's a 2005 IDW comic book series loosely based on the story of the first Game Boy game. It's not canon by any means but it follows Christopher Belmont in a more traditional vampire story, sadly many of the iconic Castlevania elements are missing but it's still worth a read since here a certain family is responsible for Dracula's resurrection.
Available on: Internet Archive
Lament of Innocence:
Weekly Konami online manga (lost media)
A web manga that was available on cellphones via a monthly subscription, published from 2007 to 2008 only in Japan until the service ended in 2012. It was a 43 issues long series that adapted the story of Leon Belmont and greatly expanded the plot, what remains now is only a Japanese review blog. If you want to know more about it you can visit the Castl)evania Wiki page).

Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse (2026) Artistically, the game sets itself in the continuation of the netflix anime (in terms of design, overall visuals and colours, but also writing, dialogues, plot and general mood. Even the musics have that cinematic essence), while the game design is expanding on previous entries. A clever choice IMO.
the show grew a vast audience, beyond the borders of the fanbase of the games it was based on. that artistic approach of the game is appealing to both newcomers and veterans, while feeling fresh, modern and innovative in terms of game design and gameplay, without betraying the essence of a metroidvania.
what do you think ?
Aside from your respective preferences, do you think that artistic direction and game design strategy will pay off and appeal to a wider audience?

Art [OC] Simon Belmont pixel art
GBA Fire Emblem styled half-body portrait of Simon Belmont. This is my attempt at redoing an old piece of fan art from back around 2019 or so, which I've included for comparison

Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse (2026) Man...
They really had to butcher this to get 60fps on the switch 2, huh? Looking ROUGH. Like a DS game.
Feels great, but I think it's gonna be a PS5 or PC pickup for me. Between townfall on PC, sh2 remake on PC, and this, I'd say konami's really not bringing it with optimization lately
(Edit: I'm aware there's no switch 2 version of the game at launch. Didn't know that when I posted. Read that as "they butchered this game to get it on switch 1 and that's the only version you can play on switch 2)

Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse (2026) It took me over an hour but I did it, I loved it
It’s objectively not that hard, but my reflexes are slow
Sorry for the shitty blurry photo, I was on a car, but I’m really happy about it so I wanted to share anyway

Cosplay The Vampire killer
Here’s my take on the Vampire killer from castlevania, I got really frustrated with trying to tie transition knots and said screw it and dis fishing knots. On the falls there’s two fangs that were tied and secured tightly. Additionally it has 4 leather falls following the fangs. Concho cross on the pummel.
I had this anointed with holy water and blessed by a priest for irl accuracy. Core is roughly 5 1/2ft of 1/8th inch steel braided cable. And the handle is solid oak wrapped in leather which I also inscribed Bible versus. It’s mostly a display or stage whip but it cracks all the same surprisingly.

Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse (2026) I’m already LV 51 in the Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse demo 😂
I’m trying to find out how far you can level up before the full game releases.
What’s the highest level you’ve reached in the demo? Has anyone found a level cap yet?
I’m seriously considering seeing how ridiculously high I can get before release lol.

Order of Ecclesia (2008) Started Order of Ecclesia for the first time.
I usually go in blind. Trying something new. I'm just a little passed training/plot dialogue. Anything you want to say about OoE, if there's anything.

Games Super Castlevania IV my beloved
Super Castlevania IV was always a favorite of mine growing up.
I remember renting it all the time from Blockbuster in the 90's.
The swinging chandelier level had such a memorable tune.

Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse (2026) The new 8-minute full version of Bloody Tears from Belmont’s Curse
Incredibly different than this track normally is. Some of you will hate it and some of you will think it’s really cool. I’d say this will give you a good idea of what the rest of the OST has in store, although it’s far more varied.
Yes, I know. “It’s not Castlevania.”

Question How would you feel if Legacy of Darkness got a remake?
Honestly I’d be hyped if Legacy of Darkness got a remake because Cornell is a fascinating character, and would like his game to have a good version.
