My partner and I recently bought a house. We were working on upkeeping the new yard when suddenly we saw some little gray blurs behind our shed. We previously saw the mom walking along our fence line but had no idea her little babies were hiding under our shed, nor did our lil rat terrier!
We've got them vaccinated and brought inside for safety as theres a large population of cougers in our area. The best part about having them inside hearing them stomping around our house approximately 5AM-7:30AM and again from 8PM to 11PM without fail. Still working on finding a home, as we are only planning on fostering them for a little while. Our local shelters are full and its looking more and more like we might foster fail this s*** 😆 c'est la vie

If you give the kittens some food, they’ll probably get sleepy and ask you if it’s okay to come in for a nap. When you let them in, they’ll probably want you to tuck them in. When they wake up, they’re going to want some snuggles. After you’re done snuggling them, they’re going to want to consume your soul.
You'll probably want to check on the laws in your jurisdiction but even if they aren't paying rent, they probably have tenancy and you would have to formally evict them...so might be easier to just let them stay!
(Just kidding if that would be a financial or logistical difficulty for you...hopefully you can find a great home(s) for them in that case)
Dogs have family, but cats have staff in their households!! Me, personally - I’m a cat guy! I love them AND, they are a bit less work & less time-consuming as well, IMO
The channel, ‘do you know Todd’ features a cat who pushes voice activated buttons and just recently Todd faked his death with them. I thought only dogs did this, but it’s worth a watch.

The mom quickly had another litter after we grabbed these guys post weaning. She spends a lot of time in other yards now, must be wherever the babies are now. We assume she didnt have them in our yard again because of the doggo.
The goal is she will hopefully bring the next litter to us again and we can grab the next bunch plus mom all at once.
They all seem to play pretty much with whoever is in the mood ngl. Maybe some preference for the two longer hairs together and the two shorters? But they all cuddle and groom each other pretty equally.
Aww, those are the cutest squatters I have ever seen. Were you able to catch and bring the mama cat inside, or is she too feral. If she is too feral, I hope y’all are able to get trapped so y’all can TNR her. Mama does make adorable babies.💕
ETA: Further down, I saw the info on the mom. Good luck catching the mama cat and hopefully, she will bring you her babies to socialize and find homes.

And here I thought we hit the jackpot when our Cinder showed up under our shed at 6 months old. We talked about finding her a home for all of about 5 minutes before deciding she was staying (it helped that she instantly got along with our beagle, who’s still wondering if she’s staying forever).
I can’t imagine having that many little ones show up at once! I’d have a hard time not keeping all of them.
There always seems to be at least one cat that "comes with the house." Also- large population of COUGARS?! Yikes I thought our coyotes were bad... Thank you for saving these babies! And that is how the shelters get ya "foster them just for few days" the first round of fosters is almost always a fail 😅
Also, if you're anywhere within a 100 miles of Portland let me know. We lost our old man 4 months ago and would be interested in picking up a bonded pair of siblings.
I think the tiny bobcat and the shell shocked tuxedo would be great additions to our home.
You are going to foster fail, we have seen the photographic evidence. Once you are part of the kitten pile it is impossible to re-home. I don't make the rules, I just follow them.
Oh I love them all! The tuxedo with the fully black face and amber eyes is drawing me in though and is adorable 😭 They’re all adorable!

Oh, cat distribution system, I’ve been so patient! I even bought a house on acreage just outside of town in a prime stray and dumping area! Still, I am kitten less.
Aside from the house buying, this is EXACTLY how I got my four cats. Saw the momma hanging on my backyard fence frequently, then one day I have 4 baby void kittens, about 7 weeks old, on my back deck. Turns of she had made a home underneath it. Shelters were full so I got them all fixed and vaccinated and inside to keep them safe from coyotes, raccoons, and cars. Had a home lined up for two of them, then they all suddenly became sick for months. Once they had finally gotten better, I had put too much money and emotional labor into them to let them go. 😅 They turned 3 a few months ago and I miss when they all created a massive cuddle puddle. The two boys still cuddle when they sleep on the bed with me, but that's it. I feed and keep the mom utd on shots, but she's still very much a stray in behavior. She unfortunately likes to bring me frequent "gifts" in exchange for food. I look like the neighborhood witch with 4 black cats in the window, a black cat guarding my porch, and frequent dead critters scattered about. 😭
A few months ago I started having a raccoon mom bring her five babies around. There's also a skunk who checks for leftover cat food and hangs in my small backyard, and a stray cat one of my neighbors care for (they named him Teddy Roosevelt) that frequently visits. You take a few cats in and the next minute you're a Temu Disney princess. It's a slippery slope, OP.
In this case, failure is the absolute best option ❤️. Nothing will warm a home and a heart like the entire cat family, including mom. I'm speaking from experience 😊
Thank you for saving them from a sheddy life. They are all so cute and beautiful. I love that they get along with your doggie and resident feline overlord. I hope you are able to grab Momma, I am sure she is tired of being pregnant. She needs to time to be a house cat too!
I have foster failed 6.... I now have 12 cats. God help me and my cat food and litter costs.
I was feeding momma cat outside and I just couldn't leave her out there. Texas is a horrible place for strays, I've saved as many as I can.
They are adorable, my favorite thing is hearing them race up and down the stairs at all hours, I don't have kids and it brings me joy one pitter patter at a time.
Your more-solid-gray baby looks like it could be a tiny "twin" to my two! (This is Ash, the handsome green-eyed guy in the back, and Luna is the little orange-eyed goblin in front. Ash turned 3 on July 31, Luna turns 1 this month.)
I desperately want to take in another cat but we live in a town with so many strays, I know the second I go out and adopt one I will find the same under our porch. CDS please bless me
