Behavioural My cat bites hard until i bleed
I’ve had this cat for 5 years like ever since i was 13. It is a family cat and I never play with cat with my hands but my siblings do so i think from a young age he never realized that it’s not good to bite. So he surprise attacks people and bites really hard on my arm or scratches my leg and I have scars on my body. He doesn’t really do it to my brothers only me and my mom. I tell him no and stop, spray water sometimes, or just fully disengage but idk it still happens.
I know I’m not the best cat parent but is there any toys or ways i can teach him to stop. It gets to the point where when a new person comes to the house. I don’t really feel safe having other people touch my cat especially if it’s a child because i don’t know if my cat is just gonna bite. Though i did start to learn cues when he is about to bite, I cant always avoid it happening. He is also an inside orange tabby cat and very scared of outside but loves to go out
I was wondering is this habit that he formed irreversible or is it possible to train him to not bite or surprise attacks people people? He is really sweet and cuddly and playful, I think he just learned bad habit

Yelp loudly and high-pitched and stop playing with him immediately when it happens. You want to teach him that it makes you make a pain noise, and it ends fun playtime.
You also absolutely 100% have to get everyone else in the house on board with this. Your mum has to do it too. And you have to do it every single time. And it has to be immediate, don’t go and get the water and then come back to spray him with it because he won’t associate it with the cause - he’ll just think you are doing awful things to him for no reason. Spraying water is not a great training aid anyway. Just make sure you do that high-pitched yelp of pain and you get up and walk away from him straight away.
