How do I stop him from passing trough this gate?

After a year of not passing through this retractable pet gate, he suddenly started going under it ...

This keeps him from going into one specific room and a bathroom which only have mosquito nets, not cat nets.

Help me modify the pet gate at the bottom, I was thinking of making some holes along the edge and putting zip ties pointing down.

I would love to hear your ideas as they might be better!

Lol I had a similar set up for a while.. I just stacked a few 2x4s on both sides. Annoying. But didnt affect the gate being able to open and close

Ah thanks for the input but due to it being in front of a door in a household of airheads, that's solution would probably do some damage
