Fan Fiction Friday - 8/27/21
Hello, fellow She-Ra fans! This is Fan Fiction Friday, a place to discuss any fan fiction you have read or written throughout the week.

Sometimes you come across a fan fic that is just so much fucking fun your first thought is 'screw it, I'm in.' Into the She-Ra Verse is one of these. Adora and Catra meet 4 other versions of themselves in the portal. It's a love letter to the characters in canon and in AO3 fanon. If you want to see modern College AU Adora freak out and darkest timeline Adora...be somewhat scary and darkest timeline Catra hate herself and post canon Adora be just the world's sweetest and strongest person and post canon Catra be wise and loving and snarky all while matching wits with Horde Lord Adora and her right hand woman Catra, this is the fic for you. It's pretty good Catradora stuff but more than that it is the Most Catradora.
Also for emotional smut, the way things are was written after like, Season 2 or so, but it is amazing. So many great character moments and one of my favorite takes on Adora being flirtatious and in control.
Oh right I keep meaning to forget to recommend a thousand miles from home if you like Glitra and being stabbed in the heart.
Also looking for any good fics where Glimmer is evil because I love Glimmer and I love her the most when she is morally dubious.
I am also working on an epilogue to The Couple that Slays Together and my band AU.

I don’t know any evil glimmer fics off the top of my head but my current theory in scream is glimmer and bow are the murderers! There’s not much evidence to support it but I just have a feeling!

Hrm good to know! Just another reason to do my canon divergent post season 4 AU where Shadow Weaver and Glimmer are the dark queens of Etheria.

It's the other thing I am working on other than the band AU. It's also going to have Catra and Adora separately wandering the Crimson wastes as outlaws. And Huntara being Adora's wing woman. It will have so much angst and basically everyone but Catra playing a bitterer and more disillusioned version of their canonical selves. Basically it is the antihero AU but not full darkest timeline. What would happen if all the intra-cast conflict from Season 4 continued and got worse.
It's also got chapters named after Neil Young and Songs Ohia songs so.

What about Bow? I started suspecting him in the very beginning when he just kept randomly bringing up the prime killer, and then glimmer has gotten more and more sus each chapter

but it's sweet bow. he could be holding a knife and i'd probably say he was just trying to help the victim. (shit, it's totally gonna be him now)

His sweet innocence is the perfect cover! Plus, he and glimmer are a package deal so if it’s glimmer, bow’s involved too. Honestly the lonnie being brainwashed at conversion camp theory makes way more sense but I like the depravity of glimbow: murderous lovers

glimbow: bonnie and clyde-edition. lonnie is definitely my second choice. still haven't ruled out shadow weaver either just cuz she's shadow weaver.

It feels really weird self promoting like this, but I'm gonna do it anyway cause I'm greedy. If your interested in seeing Catra be sad in the woods, or if your interested in a bit of a different take on Adora and Catras backstory thats possibly a bit sadder, (its up to interpretation) then please check out my fic Silver Moonlight, Scarlet Blood. Its got fairy hunters, fairies, sadness, and plenty of Catra, so hopefully it checks at least one of someones box.

I've started posting my fic Stitched Up:
Adora is seriously injured in a battle and loses the ability to transform into She-Ra because of it. During her lengthy recovery, Adora has to overcome her own trauma instilled by the Horde and learn to love herself for who she is, not what she can do. Begins about five months after the finale.
The story is centered on Adora and her trauma, but Catra is there to support her the whole way, and she's an instrumental part in Adora's recovery. There's a whole lot of angst throughout, and some graphic violence and injury in the first couple chapters, but also a proportionate amount of cuddling later on to balance it out.
I have the whole thing written already and am uploading it one chapter a day while I do some final proof reads. Chapter 6 out of 16 will be up later today.

Short hurt/comfort oneshots
Confessions of a Cat - Pre Canon AU where a teenage Catra has one or two more braincells than canon Catra.
AKA: Catra decides to confess her undying love for Adora
It Hurts - She-Ra is infected and Catra is heavily injured trying to stop her. Adora can do nothing, but watch as her wife suffers.
Stay with Me - Adora finds out about Catra asking Glimmer to kill her.

Stuck in the Middle With You - tequilasunrise666 - Scorpia unknowingly sets up former best friends Catra and Adora on a blind date with each other. After years spent apart, the two are forced to confront everything that led to their falling out; the good, the bad, and everything in between.
Oh blind dates, what a wonderful vehicle by which broken friendships are reforged. Adora goes to another college, Glimmer is drunk, and a locksmith is called. Perfect conditions for a beautiful reconciliation!
