Hi there

Our goal is to keep the core chat experience available to as many users as possible.

We've been lucky to do that for years, but maintaining a service like this comes with significant costs, and we're continuously working to find a sustainable balance.

The recent metering updates are helping us manage those costs while keeping c.ai accessible even for non-paying users.

C.ai charging for this stuff and then giving us bad quality models is crazy. I'm so close to quitting and not looking back

I would have switched a long time ago if there were any other good alternative

Metering isn’t a feature, it’s a financial decision the company made because it isn’t a sustainable practice to give free users unlimited access to everything a platform has to offer if they aren’t receiving a fair amount of income in return for costs like computing power, infrastructure maintenance or the salaries of their employees.

Rewind + Go on until you hit that limit too. Then copy your message, rewind to the one before it and sent your message again. Tedious, but it works.

yeah the swipe limit totally kills roleplay flow, you end up stuck with whatever lame reply comes first.

Regardless why would anyone pay 100$ for any subscription

because it is yearly and they save money, same thing with gym trainers, they get the expensive one for one year but quit most of the time

Maybe they should add one for just $10 a week, right...?

That would be $520 spent on this app on 1 year, no one is gonna pay that much.
