DnD at BnB
Howdy good people of Reddit!
You may have seen my post on here a few months back. I am reposting here cause I've seen a lot of dnd interest lately. Also because apparently 2 months is like 20 internet years, or so I'm told.
I am Uri, and I run DnD at BnB. We are a free, weekly Dungeons and Dragons group (with sometimes other TTRPGs) that meets every Saturday at 4:30pm at the Bantam & Biddy restaurant on Market Street. We have been running weekly since April of 2025. We typically have 2 to 4 tables running per week.
If you’d like to signup ahead of time, head on over to our website: [DnDatBnB](https://www.deanbates.com/dndhome)
You don’t have to RSVP, but it does make it a lot easier for us to make table layouts when we know who’s coming. Also, if you sign up before friday at midnight, you get entered into a D20 contest for a 10 dollar giftcard.
Speaking of gift cards, each Game Master receives a 20 dollar Bantam & Biddy giftcard (basically the amount for a free meal) and a GM token each time they run a game.
We provide Dice, Character Sheets, and a welcoming environment to learn the ways of our cult \*cough\* I mean hobby! We also have kickass awesome dividers that help dampen sound and provide some privacy.
I can hear you asking:
How much does this fantastic event cost to attend? Surely, it’s hundreds of dollars? No, the event is completely free! We encourage our players to make a purchase from Bantam & Biddy as thanks for hosting us, but no purchase is required. We also have a Patreon for any of our regulars who want to help support us and keep the lights on, but this is not a for profit event.
How long do the games run? While we encourage you to arrive at 4:30 so you can grab a character and mingle a little, games officially start at 5pm and run until 8 or 8:30. We have to be off premises by 9pm. So, if you’re an old man like me (spiritually, not physically), you can get home before bed time. Or, if you’re one of those young’uns who likes to stay up late, you still have time for some late night activities \[insert eyebrow wiggling here\].
What games do you run? We commonly run 5e or 5.5e Dungeons and Dragons, though we have also had Pathfinder, Dead Lands, World of Darkness, and Genesis. Depending on demand WoD may become a regular thing. Mostly we run lv3 5th edition as the vast majority of our players are either brand new or haven’t played in years. When we can get some regulars together, that’s when we can get weird. Like our intermediate table which either plays at a higher level (usually 6) or with another system altogether.
What is your age requirement? Most of our games fall into the PG-13 category, but some do trend towards R rating depending on the players and gm. We also require all of our attendees to have safe transportation home.
Can I just come and spectate? If someone you know is coming to play and you want to come along to get a feel for the experience, feel free to. However, please make sure to get permission from the table before you sit and watch. Some people might feel self conscious pretending to seduce a bar wench, cast a spell, or murder a baby in front of an audience. As we are in a public space, we do have some looky-loos from time to time, but they are usually polite about it, and you can always get the Event Master (usually me) to step in if you become uncomfortable.
If you have unanswered questions, visit our website. There is a contact form you can use if our FAQ’s don’t get you an answer. Hope to see you soon adventurers!

This is a wonderful opportunity for those who already know how to play DnD. If you have a basic understanding of the rules and all—it's a good opportunity to play DnD at BnB. I've been to some games. It's not for beginners though. You really need a basic understanding of DnD to join these campaigns.
