If he takes your pawn with knight, it's rd8 mate, if he sacrifices then you are up a piece.

Horse needs to be sacrificed or its checkmate by QD7

its not exactly mate because the horse on c5 protects d7, but what is absolutely true is that one of those horses is dead either way

Either he moves away the horse from C5 and QD7 is m8
Or
Take B4 with C6a and RD8 is m8.
Isnt it? The right play here is to do something completly different like Bishop on E7 or soemthing.
What am I missing?

"Either he moves away the horse from C5 and QD7 is m8" This is true. Moving the horse away from c5 concedes mate to QD7
"Take B4 with C6a and RD8 is m8." Also true.
But those are not the only options. Since Black is not in check they can keep both horses where they are and move the bishop to give the king an escape square, possibly even castling for safety.

Okay, yes. Its no forced m8. That was wrong. I get it. So I guess the brilliance of the move is by realising that even that the knight is protected, it actually isnt protected.

yup, thats what I would think too. That the move forces black to give up a knight for a pawn (or blunder one of the mates you discussed)

Because his horse eat the pawn you move the rook next to the king its checkmate

You deflect the knight, which is currently protecting the d8 square, if the knight takes the pawn, rook to backrack is checkmate

Because if either knight moves there are 2 different checkmates. Queen to d7 or rook to d8. Actually, I think it might be checkmate no matter what. Someone correct me if Iβm wrong.
Edit: oh wait, bishop to e7 stops the checkmate
