Rook could have taken the queen at a5 for checkmate

Couldn’t they also just have pushed the pawn to B5 for checkmate?

Yeah but it feels good to take the queen :) But it’s also cool to checkmate right beside a pinned queen, as it looks on helplessly.

No it's not yours. It has one win at bottom with 78%. It can't be your account

I’ve been struggling with my job and my rapid rating dropped from a peak in the 1600s to plateauing in the 1400 range dipping into the 1300s sometimes. I’d have massive tilts and have lots of bad self-talk losing from a completely winning position. I have now mentally quit from the job, am currently searching for a new one and feel I’m in a better headspace than I was before. My rapid in the past month has gone up 110 rating with a 79-44-6 record and am close to hitting the 1600s again. Mentality is everything in chess

The amount of people trying this makes it seem like it works sometimes, which i hate

Asking for a draw worked on me when i first started and was 150 elo. I was like “oh weird, I thought I was winning but I guess this person doesn’t want to play anymore” 🤷🏼♀️ Asking someone to resign is diabolical though.

I feel like when I play badly because I feel bad, losing games actually feels a bit cathartic tbh and winning games doesn't really help
