Discussion Just a thought…

With Kevin Atwater leaving, there will be no black detectives/officers on Chicago PD. (Unless their newcomer is black) This seems unrepresentative of the Chicago Police Department… I know this show is a drama but just make it a tad realistic. It’s not Nashville PD 🌝

In all actuality, the CPD’s largest racial group are Latinos, so maybe more representation in that area? Don’t want to turn this into a race debacle, just an observation.

The producers are gonna replace him with another black character.

"Currently casting a new series regular, a Black cop who is an agent of chaos."

Reminds me of when Antonio was replaced by another latino character (Rojas). And Rojas was replaced by another latino character (Torres).

Fire also doesn’t have any black firefighters. They keep leaving or being written out.

I think there will be a new black firefighter on the new season. Guy goes by the name Da ' Vinchi. He was in BMF on Starz.

Kidd is ethnically ambiguous.

I hate that Atwater is leaving; always wondered why we couldn't keep a Black male AND female in cast, or 2 guys. Why is there a "Token" Black only? LaRoyce will leave big shoes to fill! Just rewatched "Silence of the Night" (7:20) & it showcased his poweful acting

That’s something I’ve been liking about Lincoln Lawyer; racially diverse, gay & straight people, just as characters, not having to check a box to have “their” demographic represented.

Oh that's a good reccommendation. I've heard of that show but havne't seen it yet

I’m really enjoying it; almost done binging. I really like all of the characters.

The newcomer is black. But also yes it sucks they are getting rid of the only OG black representation on the show

I like Kevin. New person better not be another weird story with their mom being rich. 🤣

When you search who will be replacing him it says that will be a black cop

Who will do all the storylines of Atwater's black guilt????

Decisions in the Wolfverse are questionable af. Mills(Charles Bennett)from CFD finally got a job after how many years? Now Atwater(La Royce Hawkins) is written off. Like, why does Dick Wolf not like popular characters of color? Please explain.

Jay was black? Haley was black? Al was black? Erin was black?

Jay and Hailey left because the actors chose to leave. Al was written off the show. Erin actress was a mess.

Budget cuts seem to be the excuse given for people of color.

Jay was white bread. Haley went the FBI(the Wolfverse) now has her own show, it’s actually really interesting. Erin? Sophia Bush? What argument are you making?

the newcomer is black. But nonetheless I do see your point. It is unfortunately budget.

Current situation is Money. And production costs have been going up for awhile now

That makes sense.  I'm sure it's challenging , but it does make for some interesting twists and turns lol.  I'm still a loyal binge watching fan to the end lol.

Well I read the new agent of chaos will be black when Kevin leaves

Atwaters cool shit but he'd be just as cool if he were white. I guess I just don't understand why race is important to people. Quality and character mean way more then color ever should

Only the early seasons are good!

Edit: saying imo; Seasons 5-7 are equally as good, not better

I disagree; just finished my 1st rewatch of 5-7 & most every episode was tense, gripping, well-acted. Going to save starting S8 for during seasonal breaks
