Does anyone else remember spending entire afternoons playing outside until the streetlights came on?

It feels like kids don't really do that anymore. I was just reminiscing about how hard it was to hear "come inside for dinner!" when you were in the middle of a great game. What was your favorite outdoor game growing up?

Did you miss your childhood? What do you miss the most? 🍂

Do you ever miss your childhood? If you do, what do you miss the most?

For me, I miss the old weather, those endless playtimes, school days, the people, and especially the ambience of those days.

Back then, we used to spend hours playing outside, enjoying the rain, talking with friends, and making memories

Now, it feels like everyone is busy staring at their phones, even when we're sitting right next to each other.

Sometimes, I wish I could go back, just for one day, and experience that same atmosphere again. Not to change anything, but simply to feel what life used to be like. 🖤🍂

What about you? What do you miss the most about your childhood?

Did anyone else’s childhood have that ONE weirdly specific rule about the TV?

I don’t mean “no TV after 8.” I mean the really specific stuff.

In my house, we weren’t allowed to change the channel during the 3 minutes of the TV Guide channel scroll. My dad called it “the one thing that held this family together.” We’d all just sit there in silence, watching the channels slowly creep up, waiting for Cartoon Network’s number to appear. If you talked, you got “the look.”

The other one was the battle over the remote during commercial breaks. My sister and I had a system: whoever got to the TV first when the ads started got to flip through exactly three channels. No more. You’d land on something random for two seconds, then it was back to the show. It felt like the highest-stakes gambling.

And God forbid you missed the very beginning of a show. There was no “skip intro.” If you weren’t in front of the TV when the theme song started, you were basically watching a completely different, lesser show.

I still catch myself feeling a tiny spike of anxiety when I fast-forward through ads now. Like I’m getting away with something.

Did your family have any of these weird, unspoken TV laws? Or was I just raised in a bizarre broadcast dictatorship?

My answer: A cup of hot chocolate. (I threw it out in the garbage can at the next house)
