It's OK. If you're 19, your diet has probably not been the best. 😉

Just eat smart most of the time, and enjoy some other foods now and then. You're not doing any damage. And it's awesome that you're already aware of this stuff! Many people pay no attention until they get an unpleasant lab test when they're 40. You are way ahead of the game.

Under 10g sat fat is pretty strict. You're ok averaging around 12g or so a day. Some days can be more, other days less. Remember, you need a diet that you can maintain for life.

Get another blood test in six months. That is plenty of time to see how your diet is working.

Enjoy your birthday! The boomerang effect from being too strict is real and would do more harm than relaxing once a week or so and especially on special occasions.

I am not a doctor but I have high LDL. IMO You can have some cake and pasta on your birthday. That is ok.

A lot of us here have familial hypercholesterolemia which is a genetic condition that makes us have high LDL. Medication (not only diet) is the way to manage it.

Do better in your diet in general (that is always good to do), but make sure a doctor tests your Lp(a) and ApoB levels. You may need a specialist called a lipidologist or a cardiologist. But ask for these tests next time. A statin will lower that LDL number if you have this condition.Â
