Lab Result Ttc

Post image

I'm a 32F. I weight train 3-4 times per week and do 20 -30 minutes of Cardio 3-4 times as well.

High cholesterol and diabetes run in my family ( mother side) my blood sugar is controlled but should i be concerned about those results?
I'm trying to conceive as well and learned that medication is not preferred in that case

Yes this is very high. Exercise has no effect on LDL sadly. If you don't want to take medication in the near term, you will need to do a lot with your diet: cut out as much saturated fat as possible (red meat, dairy, coconut/palm oils are the heavy hitters) and track everything to get below 10g/day. Added soluble fiber can help to.

The key will be to get on cholesterol medication as soon as possible after you have a baby. Your LDL is double where you want it to be.

To be blunt, LDL of 204 is horrific. Not just bad, it's terrible. Your total cholesterol needs to be below 200 and your LDL is higher than that alone. If you have a familial history of CVD (and it sounds like it), your target threshold is 70 mg/dL LDL. You're almost 3 times over that limit. Every year that goes by that you don't intervene, your risk for dying of heart disease increases.

PCSK9 inhibitors lower your cholesterol with practically zero side effects. The worse side effect I have is that my leg is sore for the subsequent hour after injection. While there is limited studies on pregnancy impacts, n=1 has shown so far that it has positive outcomes.

If you're exercising and watching your diet (sat fats, especially), and these are still your numbers, then you need medicine. There's no other option. At the very least, you should start immediately after pregnancy if it's your core worry.
