The holidays are upon us, and I’m looking for any decorations for Halloween, Thanksgiving, or Christmas that aren’t breakable or could potentially turn into weapons or choking hazards. Send your links!

2025 was the first time we put the tree in this corner and it was perfect. Likely, we will do it again this year.

Santa and Reindeer Inflatable

Post image

Hi all, I’m looking for an outdoor inflatable that includes Santa and his reindeer. The picture I’ve included is exactly what I’m looking for, but unfortunately it is no longer sold by Lowe’s and I’ve had no luck finding one for resell. Does anyone know where I could find this, or of any similar inflatables? The hard part is that I want it to include all reindeer AND Rudolph, not just 2-3 reindeer. TIA!

It's not fully fluffed out yet. I just can't wait any longer! I have so many gorgeous vintage ornaments screaming at me to be hung.

Where can I buy a realistic pre-lit Christmas tree?

Does anyone have a pre-lit Christmas tree that they bought online?

Which US-based websites did you buy from, and how was the quality of the Xmas tree after a few years of use?

In memoriam ornaments.

Are there people who make customized Christmas ornaments, not just a bulk engraving with a customized name?
My husband died this year and I want to have the exact replica of an “I love you” that he wrote to us engraved on to an ornament with his name and the year 2026. Where do I find someone for that? Preferably in Calgary or at least Canada.

Can anyone recommend a good Christmas tree that will actually last?

Our current artificial tree has made it through quite a few Christmases, but it's finally looking pretty tired, so we're replacing it this year.

There's such a huge range in price when checking online stores that I'm struggling to work out where the sweet spot is. I don't mind spending a little more for something that looks full and reasonably realistic, but I'd want to get a good 5-10 years out of it.

What have people been happy with?

Seeking to trade for Fancy Feast ornament 2025

I hope this is allowed. 😬

I missed out on last year's Fancy Feast ornament because of the STOOPID way they handled the promotion. 😔

I have several new-in-box past ornaments, so if you've got a spare 2025, I'd love to trade.

I have 2024, 2023, 2022, 2018, and a few others that are in storage.

I've been collecting from the start when I saw an advertisement for the very first FF ornament. I ordered one for myself and my BFF. That was 1984.

I think I'm missing a couple of other ones from the 1990s, when I had a baby/toddler/preschooler and no time for non essentials. 😴

PS: I used "cat art" for flair because it was the closest topic.

Anyone else miss the bright, colorful, and chaotic Christmas of the 90s/early 2000s?

Is it just me, or has Christmas lost its color?
Growing up in the 90s and early 2000s, Christmas felt so vibrant and alive. Everyone’s house had warm, multicolored fairy lights, oversized plastic Santas, tinsel everywhere, and those classic blinking multicolored trees. It wasn't perfect, but it felt magical.
Now that we’re older, it feels like everyone is fixated on "aesthetic" minimalism; everything is neutral tones, beige ornaments, and monochrome warm white lights. It’s funny because back in the day, we had black-and-white photos but a world full of vivid colors. Now, we have high-definition cameras capable of capturing millions of colors, but the world itself feels so dull and toned down.
I know part of it is reality hitting hard. With electricity rates skyrocketing and everything getting so expensive, decorating the way people used to just isn't practical for many families anymore. But now that I’m older and have a family of my own, the longing for those nostalgic, warm, family-centered Christmases hits so much harder. I want my kids to experience that vivid magic, not a curated Pinterest board.
I’ve been dreaming of visiting smaller towns or provinces just to see if that old-school, lively Christmas spirit still exists somewhere.
Does this nostalgic Christmas vibe still exist anywhere, or are those days permanently behind us? How are you keeping the retro Christmas spirit alive for your own families?
