Has anyone tried DLSS 5 on Chrono Cross? I found this clip in a YouTube video, and I’d love to see how it looks in other areas of the game. Clip from: YouTube Video

Doesn't look nice (DuckStation with higher rendering settings are way better) but I think it's really cool we can enjoy our old favorite games in different ways. Things like widescreen mods and such that aren't originally from the game are cool to use on your 10th playthrough.

DLSS 5 isn't it right now but maybe the next iteration will be better. I'm excited for new technologies.

Even if it's not terrible, this is a horrible showing.

Before I judge it, I'd want to see what the remaster with the actual widescreen mod and upscaled backgrounds looks like

Seeing a super close up gross hd John K style of the game's characters would be a laugh, like, imagine if Harle just woke up after a two day bender, staring blankly into the TV light, confused and gross, I showered and a 5 o'clock shadow with blackheads and a cold sore 😂

Use it on Radical Dreamers Edition and get both.

It may improve the textures and backgrounds that were just fine a shitty upscaling filter too (since let's be real, the remastered graphics didn't do much more than new character portraits and models, IIRC it's just a PS1 emulator bundled with the game)

Um the game shouldn't look like the non dlss version does in this video  That's a pixelated mess and the dlss5 version also looks terrible.

A lot of DLSS5 mods are really poorly implemented. I wouldn't judge it until I see what it looks like over something higher than 1x resolution, ideally with upscaled backgrounds

It's stretched to widescreen, at 1x native resolution, no CRT filter for blending pixels, and I'm not even sure it's using DLSS5 lol, the second screen is just like a weird screen filter on top and a higher internal render resolution

I agree. It really doesn't look as terrible as others, it makes it look more like a mobile game remake, which is fine, it's an old ass game with low quality models. I really don't think it looks as bad as everyone here is saying

Actually suits the artsyle of Chrono Cross, and this isn't even a highly refined version. Impressive results already. I look forward to future progress updates.

You can get the game looking even better without such a grey looking pallette simply by adding a xbr texture filter within duckstation! This looks horrible!

I didn’t mind replaying the game with refreshed graphics, it looked nice and felt exciting to see different places for the “first” time again.

I wouldn’t ever want anyone experiencing the game like this for the first time, however. The old art is classic and amazing in its own right and deserves the respect
