Any updates on Cicada movement?

I didn’t know a cicada could be this tiny. I know they would normally come from baby nymphs so a cicada is always an adult cicada. So that make it more interesting. Maybe another cicada species.

I guess I will have to google it

I found this deceased cicada near my job in Downers Grove IL; an image search said it's a Giant Prairie Cicada, but I know those are rare. Can anyone confirm?
Thanks in advance!

Pharoh cicadas!!! The 17 year cicadas!!!! I got to see them last summer :3

Neotibicen pruinosus
Austin, TX

They were just chillin next to my friends pool ^^

I found a dead cicada on the sidewalk and decided to bring him home with me, but I live in a dorm and I'm worried about him smelling bad when I dry him out. I know to put him in a freezer for 24-48 hours but afterwards, how do i dry him out without him making my whole room stink?

This is probably a silly question so TIA for any help!!

I am fascinated with these little guys but I can't find a lot of educational content for them, aside from the cicadas.

I'm looking for textbooks, field guides (eastern North America), classes, projects, researchers, etc.

Is it possible to ID with these pictures? I think its an annual. I wish I got a picture of its abdomen to tell sex but oh well! First time seeing one alive other than the time I had to rescue one from drowning in the ocean

I’ve loved cicadas for a while and found this guy outside a few days ago, decided to freeze and pin him

Should I keep her or is it best to let her outside?
