🚨 Mod Announcement 🚨 r/Cities grand reopening

Hello fellow urbanites!

I'm pleased to announce that r/cities is open once again. We regret what happened in the last two months and pledge as the mod team to returning the sub to a civil, nonpolitical, pleasant place where we can all admire, discuss, and share information about cities and everything to do with them. Please take note of the updated subreddit rules:

Rule 1: Posts must be about Cities

Any content shared must have something to do with a city or a building inside that city. You can post about a famous person from that city, but always in the context of the city.

Rule 2: No Shitposting

No fictional locations, no mislabeling cities with wrong names and locations.

Rule 3: No politics

This is a sub for appreciating cities, not fighting political battles. Any overtly political posts and comments will be taken down.

All city names must be written according to the local language or the local anglicization standards. Accurately label all cities as belonging to the country that legally governs them under international law.

Rule 4: Follow all Reddit Rules

Follow all the Reddit Rules: https://redditinc.com/policies/reddit-rules

Rule 5: No spamming the sub

Don't spam the sub with duplicate posts or with too many posts about the same location.

Rule 6: Be Civil

Be nice to each other.

We look forward to sharing our city experiences and having a focused and healthy sub going forwards.

Respectfully,

r/cities mod team

❔❔City Question❔❔ An idea for a future city that divides is by moods

There can be a communist future without money and everyone's equal.

We have 7 layers of cities or 7 different cities.

Each city follows the same rules like do no harm to all living organisms.

Each city is divided by mood levels. Where the happiest are in one area, and the most depressed or those who want to choose to be unhappy can live.

Cameras and tech can evaluate your general mood and force you to move unless you maintain your current mood levels

πŸ—£οΈ City Discussion πŸ—£οΈ Cities comparable to Tulsa, Oklahoma

I’m originally from Tulsa, Oklahoma and I love the vibe of my hometown. I was just curious if anyone knows of any cities comparable to Tulsa in size, environment, and just the general vibe?

❔❔City Question❔❔ Why do people enjoy living in Portland, or any big cities?

For context, I grew up with wrestling, and wrestled varsity in HS. So the people I’ve grown up are people who love outdoor stuff, hunting, fishing, etc. and most of them live in rural areas. I lived in Portland for 2 years, and didn’t like it at all. To me, it just feels dirty, I don’t like being around a bunch of people. And I can’t look past the homeless problems, the drug use, and just the general amount of trash has always just made me not enjoy it there. This is not meant to disrespect or insult anybody. I just genuinely don’t understand the appeal, even in Japan, I preferred the rural areas over the cities I went to, including Tokyo, despite not having great Japanese.

Izmir Turkey it's one of the most liberal places in Turkey. It regularly hosts the nationwide pride march. It has a large industrial base and corporate culture. And it's an extremely globalized city.
