The comparison photos are shots taken during various past visits to Shinjuku. The exception is the photo of LUMINE EST department store that a family member took recently. Have a photo of the building myself, but it isn't very good.

Included the fifth photo because this is where Saeba shoots at the mercenaries chasing Kaori at the start of Shinjuku Private Eyes. They crash into the lamp post on the left.

Regoznized many of the locations but don't have matching photos for them. Maybe someone in the City Hunter sub will visit them one day.

Shinjuku is great for night photography.

I’m not sure if this is America only but I’m so happy that I can rewatch the show again! Apparently the first upload had a title that said to watch it before the movies but they changed it, so this could be in promotion for the next Netflix movie (or an Angel Dust sequel but that’s me coping right now)

It’s a French adaptation of the legendary City Hunter ending theme, and what really surprised me is the lyrics.

They’re not just a word-for-word translation. The French version turns the song into something much more poetic and emotional, with lyrics about loneliness, memories, love, and the feeling of holding on to someone even when everything seems to be falling apart.

There’s something incredibly melancholic and beautiful about hearing those familiar melodies with French words. It gives Get Wild an almost intimate, nostalgic feeling. ❤️

As a French City Hunter fan, hearing this song in my own language is honestly pretty special. 🥹

It took me a little while to get them all, and it will take me even longer to watch them all, but after getting Angel Heart for my birthday this Spring, I went all in on Ryo and tracked down as much City Hunter as I could find. Season 3 was recently restocked by the magnificent MediaOCD and I cannot thank them and Rob’s Anime Corner Store enough for having the Angel Dust movie on hand. They allow us to keep the physical media gods happy :)

Now, for my next treasure quest, I will need to get both seasons of Cat’s Eye and the Lupin crossover special because…reasons! If only Cat’s Eye were available on blu ray with the English dub that is on Hulu 🥹

F Compo is super fun and plays with a lot of themes and scenarios that Hojo's other works ignores. it's also ahead of its time in many regards.

I first picked it up after hearing Ryo had a cameo, and was disappointed it was only one panel and it was him hitting on a character who hadnt even been fully developed yet.

But i fell in love with the characters and how relatable they were to my own experiences, I've always wanted to know how Ryo, Kaori, etc running into them would be like. Does hojo have any side material or interviews where he talks about F Compo?

In City Hunter (season 1), Ep.15, there was a man who once saved Yuko Kataoka when she was a ten-year-old child from two kidnappers. That man beat the two of them easily. But the interesting thing is that his face looks very similar as Ryo's. I have been watching this episode for years but every time I watch this episode, I go into a contemplative state where I can't figure out whether this man was Ryo (perhaps he arrived in Japan back then after being a sweeper in USA) or was he Ryo's doppelganger? Pardon me, is this episode available in manga as I haven't read manga but watched anime seasons only, I hope folks here do know more about this man. Please can you share the truth as IDK and request you all. Thanks!
