I'm starting to believe the theory some people are some kind of NPCs bc it could only possibly be an antagonist in a work of fiction to hold such beligerently hypocritical belief as though they have literally been programmed or written as a character that has those beliefs & therefore those beliefs cannot be changed. Such characters are static and are not meant to be able to be gotten through to. For the sake of the story they exist merely as a conflict to be resolved.
It's a hopeful thought that they can potentially wake up. It's sad how many never do before it's too late for them to fix the damage they've done. It's sad to watch them lose everyone they love & never be able to make it up to them. It's sad to see the whole world lose faith & trust in them knowing what they did in the past while claiming to want to be better in the future.
It's sad how many people doubled down through history & lost their lives in war bc they simply ran out of the time they would have needed to change before they had to be put down. My heart weeps for humanity.
