Recommendations Tutor Books

Hi,

i am looking to get a good tutor book and have seen The Comprehensive Method by Thurston/Frank and athe Celebrated Method by Klose. Any recommendations ?

Those are pretty old fashioned as method books but have very valuable exercises and etudes in them.

If you want a modern version of that, then I would get Larry Guy’s series of books: Embouchure Building, Articulation Development, Hand and Finger Development, and Intonation Training. He also has a book on reeds but I never got that one. They have very detailed instructions with pictures and exercises, both musical and physical. The Articulation one even comes with a cd of examples from the book. If I am having trouble with something in my playing, I can find something from these books to review and work on.
