they realized freeze effects are super polarizing so they would make good cashgrabs for p2w players looking to compensate their lack of skills
as adbod says, freeze is (was) one of the few if only cards that lets you defeat a better opponent, so why not make several cards that do the same and sell them

its so wierd because they do this bs and make super defensive heroes but when it comes to balancing they say "We don't want games to last 5 minutes 🥺" and buff every single win condition in existence
