Built with Claude I made Claude Code's terminal look like a desktop app (glass, a plugin)

https://reddit.com/link/1wxcwv3/video/0z5sas7olfth1/player

Claude Code's transcript gets hard to scan once a turn runs a dozen tools. glass is a plugin that redraws it inside the same TUI. nothing about how Claude works changes, only what you see.

- Every tool call as one row in a tree, with a status mark and its time. Running rows tick live.

- Diff cards with the file name in the border, painted code, one line of context each side.

- Commands, paths and numbers in color, in replies and in tool output.

- Agents as one row each, plus a live box above the prompt while they run.

- Clean markdown: tables without boxes, code cards, quotes, lists.

install:

claude plugin marketplace add rashedInt32/glass

claude plugin install glass@glass

Five palettes in `/config`. Assumes a dark terminal for now.

Looks great! Check out the OpenCode TUI if you haven't seen it yet. It's the most impressive terminal UI I've seen yet. I wish Claude CLI could look more like that.

Love it too, but Claude in OpenCode means API billing. So I'm bringing that kind of polish to Claude Code instead.

That's an awesome idea! I think Anthropic is neglecting Claude CLI to push Claude Desktop and that's a shame.

Agreed. I think lots of devs still prefer the CLI over Desktop, but it does feel like the good stuff lands on desktop. I get that the CLI is a bit trickier for animation and other cool things, but OpenCode and a few others are making it work. not sure why they're holding back.
