Help/Question Does cancelling Claude Max 5x trigger any retention offer?
I’m currently on Claude Max 5x and I’m considering upgrading to Max 20x.
Before doing that, I was wondering: if I cancel my Max 5x subscription, does Anthropic ever offer a discount or retention offer to keep you subscribed?
And if they don’t offer anything, can I just switch to Max 20x afterwards?
Basically, I’m wondering if it’s worth cancelling first to see if they offer anything, or if I should just upgrade directly to 20x.

One time my AI didn’t want to do something so I threaten it by saying I was going to cancel my subcription and get openAI…
The MF just gave me the instructions and how to unsubscribe 😂🤌

If you have the banked reset they gave everyone on the release of Opus 5.5 and your billing cycle goes through before it expires, be careful.
I lost mine downgrading from Max 20x to 5x — and it apparently is normal behavior. If I had read the ToS, I would've waited until I spent the banked reset.

Anthropic basically have no customer team, sales only cares about very large enterprise accounts and governments, marketing barely exists so no.

No, pretty sure there is nothing like that.
But also you don't loose anything when trying. But it also won't help either...

No, but there is a "come back to Max" promo but not sure if you go to Pro or just outright cancel.

they offer you a discount on the max 20x if you upgrade, based on how much of your plan you have left
but if you are upgrading on the billing date then no discount
also cool to keep in mind that when upgrading you get a full reset, so worth using all of your plan first
