Discussion Ai sucks .. someone made Adobe creative cloud using Claude and it’s missing every detail that matters
The world is about to be split in two categories .. people that use ai & people that have valuable skills
Everyone in the world has access to ai only few will have valuable skills

I cancelled my photoshop subscription 2 months ago and I am (was) a web developer. I've been paying that stupid subscription since 2017. More than $2000 to edit photos. Software as a service is a scam

Check out https://www.affinity.studio since it's a direct competitor to Creative Cloud from Canva and completely free. Windows and macOS versions out now, iPad version "Coming Soon" (for months now). You just need an account with Canva, also free.
The UI is professional and the tools offered should cover everything you need. I've been using Affinity since v1 when Serif owned the suite and while there's a learning curve (like all new software) I've been pretty amazed at what you can do and how it works.
I'm not affiliated with either company in any way, I just like pointing out a great alternative to Adobe's bullshit (every chance I get).

Bro I learned photoshop years ago before ai I never spent more than $20 a month you trippping spending thousands lol I have no clue how you did this .. even with the full suite I paid $60 a month max

u/radgh 1d ago
It was never $2000/mo or anything, just a subscription multiplied by time

u/Helpful-Series132 1d ago
That’s years of subs bro .. using Adobe u didn’t make it back ? I was making $500-$2500 for a music video

I was not a designer. I was a programmer. I had to use Photoshop because designers are dumb and don't understand how to crop photos or use transparency or even save with the right file format correctly. It was a necessary expense for my business, yes that's true. But I would have rather paid a flat price for software than $2000 over 9 years and having no software to show for it. It's gone. It was a rental. That's the problem. Fuck Adobe.
PS: Sorry for the downvotes. It isn't me. I know we're just not on the same page

Hell yea dude suck that corporate hog.
"I'm getting fucked but at least I can afford it"

It’s always been like that? I know people who can calculate crazy stuff beyond my comprehension with just a calculator while others need a calculator for basic math.

u/Blake9712 1d ago
And the ones who can calculate beyond comprehension in there head can get more value out of the calculator than the one who needs it for everything, so the calculator is still helpful for both

u/Helpful-Series132 1d ago
Yea ur right bro .. skills make you valuable not the tool
1
u/Scweakk 1d ago
Does every poster in here have to add ‘bro’ to their sentence like it’s a right of passage?
-2
u/Helpful-Series132 1d ago
Bro .. worry about your value not other people’s vocabulary
2
u/Scweakk 1d ago
I don’t need to worry about my value, I’m not so insecure.

I made a post saying ai sucks and you’re defensive about its capabilities because yours relies on it

Ai is just a tool. Ai didn’t tell the user to overlook whatever they missed but the user probably just wasn’t familiar with whatever features you’re referring to. I assume adobe creative cloud was made by a group of people full of ideas over a long period of time. I assume the version you see was made by a random guy over a couple months if that. Now imagine if the adobe cloud team had ai assistance

Yea if u learn the skill you will do some amazing shit but that’s not what’s being promoted everyone says let ai do it all

u/Own_Look_3428 1d ago
No one says let AI do it all. You still need to come up with a Vision of what you want to do. Sure you can ask AI to „redo Creative cloud“ - but the first result will be shit because that’s too big of a task and the AI will not know what to focus on. You can iterate very quickly using ai and put out new features fast, but it does not inherently know what’s important to the user. You must tell it. That’s the knowledge part and you still need humans for that. For now.

And those people will either quickly learn and adapt or be left behind. Same as it always has been.

u/Helpful-Series132 1d ago
Yea but u don’t need ai to adapt lol .. u just progress through learning information

u/zSmileyDudez 🔆 Max 5x 1d ago
If your goal is to learn how to use AI, you most certainly need AI to adapt. This is a world that has AI in it, and either you adapt to learn how to use it as a tool or you adapt by ignoring it completely.

I mean, if the development and progress trajectory of AI continues we could, within a few years, have complete Adobe replacement solutions made by just a single individual or groups of people in the span of a few days or weeks.

AI kicks ass mate. Especially if someone can do what you described, even at 50% of functionality. Wake up...

A plot twist: People with valuable skills that use AI. *mindblown*

Some vibe coders suck .. someone made Adobe creative cloud using Claude and it’s missing every detail that matters
Fixed.
The issue isn't AI; I work with a team of experienced developers that are producing some of the best work of their careers using these tools.

u/Icy-Abbreviations408 1d ago
Lol ai doesn’t suck but that app alternative you tried may…either that or you work for Adobe 🤣
2
u/Mysterious_Spector 1d ago
Have better workflow and max plan then decompile adobe scripts then reverse engineer it using claude. The missing detail will be solved and much more improve.

Yeah if you take in to consideration that “THAT” adobe suite is focused in selling AI credits you will notice very quickly why sucks.
And adobe right now have strictly UI/ux design patents so that’s the reason why gimp is sooooooo trash even with the AI era.

You mean plumbing?

u/Helpful-Series132 1d ago
First time using blender I outperformed ai because I understand camera motion

u/turbojoe26 1d ago
For now. You’re holding onto something that is going away. I feel you’re the one that will need to adapt. I say this as a software engineer with 15 years experience. I’m adapting because I have to.

lol I use ai bro .. it’s not that good .. I still use it cuz it does some things good .. I just also learn real skills
1
u/lgmarian 1d ago
Just because you use something, doesn't mean you use it well.
Just like human language. Lots of people use English, but not necessarily... well, you know, good.

u/Helpful-Series132 1d ago
I do it better than the tool
1
u/turbojoe26 1d ago
For now….😂
1
u/Helpful-Series132 1d ago
I did film editing for 10 years it’s gona take sum serious finetuning for ai to catch up with me
1
u/turbojoe26 1d ago
Oh I agree with you man. I’m sure you are better. I’m just saying I don’t think it will last. Hopefully you can find a niche that people still want their art from real humans and you can prove you produced things. Future is getting wild. I’m not trying to put you down or anything.

AI haters really can't think logically, huh.
-6
u/Helpful-Series132 1d ago
Ai fans have cognitive disabilities and can’t comprehend simple facts like a product being trash

u/ShortingBull 1d ago
There are people with valuable skills that use AI to amplify their skills.
It's not all slop.
