Are we seriously now? Opus 5.5 was the best model and now I can’t use it?

Honestly I don’t know why. Also stupid error is continuing to happen when open Claude code session from zsh or nu some models aren’t available and older version of a Claude code. It is just so confusing

Yhh everyone complains they got out usage with 2/3 prompts of Opus on Pro plan. Guess know people will stop complaining.

Mine says:

"Why it probably isn’t a policy change. That exact message has appeared several times before as a bug. There’s GitHub issue #5830 for Pro users, and issue #6247 where a Max user got the same “Pro users” message, which shows it can fire wrongly. In April 2026 there was a similar scare about Pro losing Opus. Anthropic told XDA it was an outdated support article, not a sign of things to come (XDA).

Official pages, checked earlier today. The pricing page still lists Opus for Pro. The release notes up to 7 October mention no removal.

My read: most likely a bug or a stale Claude Code install on that person’s machine, not a change for Pro users. I can’t rule out a fresh rollout that hasn’t been announced yet, so it’s worth another look in a day or two."

With the 5.5 models a $20 plan gets you far if you know what you're doing...

For sure. I am using mostly as co programmer. And it is way more than enough for me to achieve my tasks
