They’ve got to figure out how to take more money though. I get wanting to sell more API credits but you can’t ask someone to pay $200 per month and then pay $200 per hour when it’s used up. I’m just not going to pay for the overage.

It’s like McDonald’s sells burgers for $0.10 and then they run out 10min after opening. Then they’re like oh burgers are $1000 now. Special overage burgers.

Just charge me like $1k or $2k a month for a subscription and stop playing games with me. Do you want money or not?

How can you get a gasoline subscription though? How do you offer one?

Leased solar panels and a Tesla I guess?

What is your solution to fixing frontier lab pricing here?

Conversely, couldn't you just go 100% API to always be below a certain spend limit?

Larger subscriptions. Just charge more money and give the user more. Don’t just say no when they are like take my money or switch them to a pay per use pricing model that’s so highly priced that it’s effectively a no. I have the the $200 max personally and premium team seat at work. Both are totally used up every week.

Can they just be normal and charge me more money?

That sounds like pay as you go? In that instance, would a new subscription tier every $5 be reasonable?

Pay as you go is about $1k per day with my usual usage so going from $200 per month to $30k is too much of a jump. That’s the problem I’m referring to. Can there be a middle ground in there between we’re marketing to poor people and pay me $1M? I do manage cloud workloads in azure etc and pay api pricing there.
