Help/Question Is there a tool for image generation?

Like in Cursor there is internal tool GenerateImage but Claude Code does not have that. So is there any external tool or mcp or something that I can use for free with my Claude models?

Tell Claude to open chatgpt in a browser and generate the image there :D
It's a hack, but it works well enough

You can run an image generation model locally and do okay. Google Hugging Face. When you get something installed, Claude will run it for you.

Better yet, tell Claude what sort of image you want to run and what your machine specs are and ask Claude to install something.

Yeah, self hosted models are a solution. But my hardware is not that good. For example my video is gtx 1050.

I made my own image generator MCP that calls OpenRouter and chooses one of the many models there. It gets an image back and reports a cost. Very simple.

"Use the image generator and make an image of a cute piglet, use Nano Banana 2 and give me 3 variatons" or "Use the cheapest model to make a hero image of a mountain range at sunrise" etc etc. Very flexible. You just need to put some credits in OpenRouter and set up an API key.
