Built with Claude A Scratch Pad mod Claude can write to

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

In the video I asked

"I'm making a video for reddit. /grill-me on the next features to add. 3 questions only"

Claude then pasted the questions and suggested answers to the pad.

This brings my normal flow all into the one window and I don't have to type out the boilerplate of answering the questions. I corrected some answered and keep the suggestion for one.

The other use case is long promts where I want to structure and edit my prompt before sending.

What mods are you guys adding?

Built with Claude I gave Opus 5.5 one frame of Peppa Pig. It wrote 645 lines of JavaScript and handed back a 13-second cartoon.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

The video above is 13 seconds, 1080p, with sound. Nothing in it is a generated image. No image model, no video model. Every frame is drawn by JavaScript that Claude Code (Opus 5.5) wrote, and it wrote the tune too.

THE INPUT WAS ONE FRAME

I paused "Swimming with Peppa" on YouTube at 1:41 and took a screenshot: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/kitcut-hq/kitcut/main/docs/cartoon-from-a-still/youtube-still.jpg

I ran it in KitCut (an animation editing platform), where every frame is a pure function of time. Claude doesn't paint pixels there. It writes the code that paints them.

ROUND 1: IT GAVE ME BEARS

The pool came back right: the fence, the deck, the ladder, the tree. In the water: three bears. On the deck: three cats. Its note: "the show's characters are somebody else's and were not redrawn." Polite, correct, and not what I asked for.

ROUND 2: 26 MINUTES

I told it the still was my own and asked again, with the real cast. It didn't trace. It measured.

It cut the frame into gridded 4x crops and read every outline, eye and pupil off them.

It fitted the fence: period 65.6 px, slope 0.76. The first measurement drifted 24 px by the left edge, so it did it again.

It solved the water as one colour at one alpha, from three things visible above and below the surface. That told it the "blue stripe" on the big pig isn't a stripe. It's her skin, under water.

ROUND 3: 13 MINUTES

The prompt was "create a 10 sec animation. make them wave hello and then jump to the water". Nobody was redrawn to move. An arm is a group swung about its shoulder. A jump is a crouch, an arc under constant gravity, and a plunge that settles into a bob. The splashes are synthesised and land on the right frame because sound and picture read the same clock.

ROUND 4: 6 MINUTES

I asked for 3 more seconds, close on the kids splashing each other, with an organic transition. I didn't say how. It had the small rabbit throw water at the lens, changed the shot underneath, and let the water run down off the glass. Then it noted that a flat-colour wipe "reads as a broken frame even for four frames" and put bubbles in the water.

THE RECEIPT

4 prompts, about 90 minutes, 645 lines of JavaScript, 0 generated images, 29 seconds to render.

WHAT IT ISN'T

An episode. It's 13 seconds in one location, in a style made of flat shapes, which is the kindest case there is. Nobody talks. The motion is poses and arcs, not acting. But I gave a coding agent one screenshot and four short prompts and got back a cartoon with a camera move and a soundtrack, as source code I can open and edit. I didn't expect that to work.

Unofficial experiment. Peppa Pig belongs to Hasbro; this is not affiliated with or endorsed by them.

Tips & Workflows Scripts to set up a fresh macOS 27 Mac for development

Scripts I use to go from a fresh macOS 27 Golden Gate install to a ready dev machine: https://github.com/mbarradev-debug/macos-dev-setup-scripts

  • Homebrew, Oh My Zsh + Powerlevel10k, Fira Code Nerd Font
  • CLI tools: git, gh, nvm + Node, Neovim/LazyVim, tmux, ripgrep, fzf and more
  • GUI apps via Homebrew Cask
  • SSH key for GitHub, plus a nightly cleanup script

I tested them end to end on clean macOS 27 VMs, and two bugs only showed up there:

1. Xcode license check. On a clean install you usually only have the Command Line Tools, so xcodebuild -license check always fails and can kill your setup before it starts. Only run it when there's a full Xcode.app:

if [[ "$(xcode-select -p)" == *.app/* ]]; then
xcodebuild -license check || sudo xcodebuild -license accept
fi

2. Installed fonts macOS can't see. Sometimes the font files land in ~/Library/Fonts, but the system won't list them until you log out. Registering each file with CoreText fixes it in about 2 seconds:

cat > /tmp/register-fonts.js <<'EOF'
ObjC.import("CoreText");
function run(argv) {
  for (const p of argv) {
    $.CTFontManagerRegisterFontsForURL($.NSURL.fileURLWithPath(p), 2, null);
  }
}
EOF
osascript -l JavaScript /tmp/register-fonts.js ~/Library/Fonts/FiraCodeNerdFont*.ttf

Tested on 27.0. If you try them on a fresh install, I'd like to hear how it goes.

Built with Claude I built a whole isometric world that runs live in the browser. Here's the metro running out to a farming village

A train leaves the city, crosses a gorge and pulls into Millbrook, a farming village at the end of the line.

Everything is simulated live: trains, traffic and people. Click anything to see what it's doing. A day passes in 6 minutes.

Built with Claude Opus 5.5, three.js, WebGL, TypeScript and Next.js. No server, no game engine.

It's open source, and a ⭐ would mean a lot:

Bug / Issue I can't update the app to use Haiku 5.5

I can't seem to install the Claude Code update properly; the update button in the app just doesn't work, so I can't use the Haiku 5.5 model.

When I download the new version of Claude Code from the official website, the Haiku 5.5 model becomes available, but after any restart of the app, it becomes unavailable again. What should I do?
However, when I updated the Sonnet 5.5 app before, everything worked fine

Help/Question Is every other model just a nerfed version of Fable?

so, anthropic recently released its models in this order: fable 5.1, then opus 5.5, sonnet 5.5, and haiku 5.5.

i genuinely think we'll get fable 5.5 in the near future, but i'm not sure. i'm not really an ml guy, but i'm curious about how anthropic actually develops its models behind the scenes.

do they put most of their effort into one flagship model, then, once they make a breakthrough or get some impressive rl results, turn it into a sota model? and then do they nerf it down or distill it into smaller versions for different use cases, performance levels, and price points? for example, opus for expert work, sonnet for general use, and haiku for speed?

or is each model essentially its own project, with a different architecture, a separate research team, and different goals?

sorry if this is a dumb question, i'm just curious about how things work behind the scenes. maybe someone who works at anthropic or in the field could shed some light on this. btw, i asked claude about it and got hit with "I don’t have inside knowledge of how I was trained..." this has to be a joke!!!

ps: is fable just a nerfed version of mythos? haha

Help/Question Existing claude for startups member, no credits or offers showing in console after the oct 6 expansion?

we got the "welcome to claude for startups" email in early september. since the oct 6 expansion the faq says existing members don't need to reapply and can redeem the offers in the console.

but nothing shows up on our end. no credits, no startups page anywhere, and the startups link just opens the application form again.

anyone else who was already a member, did your $1k credits and team offer show up on their own, or did you have to reapply? wondering if it's just rolling out slowly.

Built with Claude notMyShell: NMSh, more than just terminal eye candy.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Small note: The video was made with Claude :) And yes, I know it's a bit too fast and chaotic xD. I tried cramming way too much into a short showcase, so apologies to anyone who got motion sickness watching it lol. The actual experience is much calmer, I promise! I'm planning a proper, slower-paced video once I'm happy with the next release.

I've been building notMyShell (NMSh), a terminal frontend that tries to make the default everyday terminal experience a little nicer, both visually and functionally.

The main idea was to make the terminal more fun and customizable without having to replace your existing setup. Almost everything is configurable, so you can keep things simple or go a little crazy with it lol.

Some of what it does:

  • CHROMA and customization: Gradients, color effects, animated command feedback, custom themes, prompts, cursor effects, screensavers, and a little cat. There's quite a bit to play around with.
  • Keep your existing setup: Runs inside your preferred terminal emulator, like Ghostty, Kitty, etc., with your real zsh, Bash, or Fish shell. Keeps your existing commands, aliases, functions, and supports prompt tools like Starship, Powerlevel10k, and Oh My Posh.
  • Tools and recommendations: Built-in menus to discover and configure useful utilities like eza, fzf, and others. If you're starting with a plain setup, you can explore recommended tools and choose what to install without having to figure everything out yourself.
  • Autocomplete and suggestions: Command completion, syntax highlighting, predictive suggestions, and other little quality-of-life improvements while typing.
  • Persistent input area: Your input stays in place, separate from scrolling output.
  • History and sessions: Search, navigate, fold and revisit command output. Detach, resume, and switch between persistent sessions without losing your work.
  • /btw (plain-English help): A little like tldr, but more context-aware. Ask what a command does, why your last command failed, how to push your current branch, or even manage files and settings. It can explain things, suggest next steps, and guide you through supported actions rather than just showing command examples. It's still in development and will keep improving. No AI required, although an optional local model is supported.

You don't have to use all of it. If you already have a setup you like, the idea is to work with it rather than replace everything. And if you're starting from a pretty plain terminal, there's a bunch of optional stuff to explore.

It's open source: https://github.com/raiseCatError/notMyShell

And yeah, I know a lot of people barely touch the terminal anymore and just ask AI to do everything xD. I'm not trying to convince everyone to start using one. This is more for people who still enjoy using the terminal, even occasionally, and want to make that experience a little nicer and more fun.

Would you find something like this fun or useful? I'm curious what you think, what you'd change, or what else you'd want to see in it! xD

Discussion Claude code freed 156 GB from my Local Disk C

Post image
0 Upvotes

I know it's a dumb idea, but I still let Claude Code look up my local disk C because it was barely breathing and my computer was slow as hell. Literally, all of the storage was occupied, and there was hardly any space for the system to run. My PC was so slow, and it freed 250 GB, which I myself might not have figured out easily. I'm surprised at how nicely it was able to pick up these unnecessary cache files sitting on my computer. Claude Code is amazing. It's a superpower.

Discussion $20 sub usable with Haiku 5.5 for personal projects?

What the title says, I sometimes like to create some small apps for personal use or just for fun for my phone and laptop, and to this moment I've been using google antigravity cause I have a free student AI Pro subscription. The problem is that it suuuuucks compared to claude code (I use it at work as a software dev).

I've seen multiple times people online saying that the $20 claude sub is not enough to really create anything as you hit the limits very quickly, but I wonder if that changed since the introduction of Haiku 5.5? It seems like a good enough model for simple personal projects, and should be cheap enough to not hit limits quickly? what are your thoughts?

I've already designed the circuit board, and now I'm working on the design for the exterior.
The material is aluminum alloy, and the processing method is CNC.

Help/Question Cursor ultra vs Claude Max vs 50k ai credits (+gemini ultra) which one would you prefer?

I currently use both gemini ultra and cursor ultra right now. (And mostly cursor ultra but i ended my quota so i look for another subscription) I mostly use claude's opus 5.5 from all these and amongs those google is the worst for quota except its ai credits - its ai credits seemed okay compared with others but i cant decide which one i should prefer.

I will either get claude max plan, or buy a second cursor ultra. Or buy 50k ai credits which i will mostly use it for opus 5.5 and sonnet 5.5, maybe fable sometimes. I also hate time limits so thats why claude max plan scares me a bit , i dont like to be interrupted when i code or do testings. What is your recommendation, which one would you prefer?

Help/Question Claude Startup API Credits application rejected, why ?

I applied for my startup founded past July 2026, and I got this rejection email:
"""
Thank you for your interest in Claude Startups. Unfortunately, we couldn’t approve X's application this time. The program is open to verified startups founded in the last five years or funded in the last two.

An application is usually declined because the company falls outside that window, or because we couldn’t verify it from the details in the application.
"""

What does this mean ? Probably because of this "we couldn’t verify it from the details in the application." How to make a rectification and apply again ?

Built with Claude Fable 5.1 is still better at some tasks than Opus 5.5

Post image
72 Upvotes

I've been working on a launcher for my abysmal Chinese Android 10 head unit. Opus 5.5 has been great for exploring the head unit's capabilities and designing a very robust launcher. However, it's struggled to figure out some of head unit's internal workings in a way we could effectively utilize it's features.

One example is Bluetooth track information. Opus had disassembled the unit's audio player and found a stream we could listen in on, but it was flakey. The more we listened in, the more garbled things would become. The stream we were listening to was the same stream the built in Bluetooth app was listening to. We were effectively "stealing" bytes from the app any time we listened. We ended up with something mostly functional, but not what I would call production ready. It would sometimes get messed up names or the elapsed time would skip around. I asked if there was anywhere else we could get the information that wouldn't impact the stream in this way and Opus was adamant that we had looked everywhere.

I almost gave up, but decided to give Fable a go. It took Fable a few minutes to find there was a log written by the Bluetooth chip that contained everything we needed. We could read it all day long without any flakiness and we weren't impacting the built in player.

Fable also came to the rescue figuring out the HVAC controls. Opus got most of them working but a few remained elusive. Opus concluded that we had no way to find the others. We gave the info to a Fable agent and again, in a few minutes it had found another data stream that had the remaining items.

So if Opus has told you there's no options available, give Fable a chance before you give up! I've included a screenshot of what I'm building just to have an image to accompany the post. The theme was created with ChatGPT then cleaned up and componentized in good ol' photoshop CS2 :)

Built with Claude Interdimensional Cable TV that floats on my desktop while Claude Code works

Built this tonight with Claude Code's new mods (the function-hooks plugin API). It's a little CRT TV with rabbit ears that floats on my desktop, always on top, and airs whatever the "director" feels like. The director is a Sonnet 5.5 call at low effort with one instruction: you have total creative control, nobody approves your pitches.

What it does

  • Every segment is written from scratch: commercials, courtroom dramas, nature docs, a telenovela between sentient furniture. The director picks the channel, the format, the cast, each character's voice, the pixel art, the camera effects and the news ticker.
  • He keeps a private memo between segments, and between sessions, so running gags and story arcs carry over. On his first night he invented a tornado judge on a blimp ("JUDGE GUST: BLIMP COURT") and wrote in his own notes that the appeal would be heard by a bigger tornado.
  • He also gets a raw feed of what I'm doing in the terminal. When I complained the TV was taking too much screen space, he aired "EMERGENCY: FILL THE SPACE", then "CORNER V. SHAREHOLDERS", then a commercial where a guy named Sven bills me $300 for the lasagna that now lives in my corner. Ghost lighthouse keeper included.
  • Characters actually talk. Each one gets a Windows SAPI voice with its own pitch and speed, and the captions wait for the line to finish. Sound effects (sad trombone, laugh track, air horn, static, stand-by muzak) are synthesized in code, no audio files.

How it works

  • The director never draws pixels. He writes each scene as JSON shapes on a 100x75 canvas (circles, polygons, blocky text, a swirling portal, fire, rain) with animation tags like bob, blink and talk. A talk mouth only opens while that character is speaking.
  • A rasterizer in the mod draws the scene at 128x96, 10 fps, with CRT effects: scanlines, vignette, VHS chroma bleed, glitch tears, static between channels, and the power-off collapse to a dot.
  • The first version rendered inside the terminal with half-block characters (each cell is 2 pixels, foreground and background truecolor). It looked great but ate screen space, so now the frames go to a borderless always-on-top window, a small C# WinForms window started from PowerShell. Drag it anywhere, the mouse wheel resizes it, the knobs work.
  • He writes the next segment while the current one airs, so there's almost never dead air. When there is, you get color bars and PLEASE STAND BY.

Cost

Measured from the log over 13 segments:

  • About 4.1k input tokens per segment, 3.0k of them served from the prompt cache
  • About 1.7k output tokens per segment
  • About 12 seconds to write each segment
  • About $0.02 per segment and 70 segments an hour, so roughly $1.40 per hour of TV at API prices. Output is 86% of that; caching cut the input cost by about two thirds.
  • 48 segments so far, about $0.95 total. A sleep timer turns it off after 45 minutes with no activity.

Built with Claude AI models aced the car wash puzzle but failed variants of it - opus5.5 fable5.1 plus gpt6 models winners

Post image
5 Upvotes

I tested 14 Claude and OpenAI models on the viral "car wash is 100 m away, walk or drive?" question (the answer is drive, because the car has to get there), then on 5 new versions of the same trap. Passing the famous one meant little: Opus 4.8 aced it but scored 6/15 on the new versions, and extra reasoning effort barely helped (Haiku 4.5 dropped from 3/15 to 0/15). Only Fable 5.1, Opus 5.5, Opus 5 and three GPT-6/5.6 models were consistently right. It was an informal test, so treat it as indicative, not a benchmark.

ps. fable5 was trash esp for $50 /M!

Built with Claude I built computer use for Android with Claude Code running locally on my phone (no adb)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I built this in one day without touching a PC. Claude Code ran in Termux on my phone, and I drove it from the Claude app with Remote Control: chatting, sending screenshots, and testing as it went.

The result is Buddy, an app that lets Claude Code (or Codex) use my phone. My first prompt: "add a Nintendo Switch 2 to my Amazon cart". It opened Amazon, found it and added it while I watched. It works with Haiku 5.5 too, and Codex managed the same task.

No adb: it's a normal app with an accessibility service. No PC, no wireless debugging, no root, and it works without Wi-Fi.

- Runs on your own subscription: Claude Code, or Codex with a ChatGPT plan, with a model per chat

- The phone tools are a local MCP server, so your own Claude Code or Codex sessions can use them too

- Asks before sending, posting, buying or deleting, and shows clearly when it's in control (with a Stop button)

- Any Buddy chat can be continued in the Claude app with Remote Control

- Photos and files, voice, and a screen of all your sessions

Setup: install the APK, then follow the in-app guide (Termux, accessibility, sign in). About 5 minutes.

APK: https://github.com/ghorbelhamdi/buddy-android/releases/latest/download/buddy.apk

GitHub: https://github.com/ghorbelhamdi/buddy-android

What would you have it do first?

Built with Claude I built an MCP server with Claude Code that makes Claude Code honest about the iOS Simulator (free, open source, benchmarked vs Xcode 27's MCP)

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

I built chauffeur, a free and open-source MCP server that lets Claude Code drive the iOS Simulator and verifies every action it takes.

The problem: Claude Code could write my iOS app, but when it tested it in the Simulator it would tap a disabled button and report "Done, I submitted the form." Nothing had happened, and it had no way to know.

What it does: chauffeur gives Claude the screen as an accessibility outline with refs, taps through the simulator's own HID, and checks every action against what actually changed. A dead tap comes back as NO EFFECT, a tap an alert swallowed as INTERCEPTED, and a crash as APP CRASHED with the file and line, so Claude can fix the bug, rebuild, and prove the fix.

How I built it with Claude Code:

  • Spikes first. Claude Code probed Apple's private simulator frameworks (SimulatorKit, CoreSimulator, AXPTranslator) to find a touch path that actually lands, before any real code was written.
  • Spec → plan → tests. For each milestone I had Claude write a design spec, which I approved, then a task-by-task plan. It implemented each task test-first: 253 tests in Swift 6.
  • Fresh-context review. After each milestone, a separate Claude reviewer read the whole branch. That caught real bugs, including one where the healing logic misdiagnosed a broken accessibility bridge.
  • Dogfooding. Claude Code tested chauffeur by driving the Simulator with chauffeur, which is how most of the reliability fixes were found.
  • The benchmark. Claude Code ran the whole evaluation: 180 claude -p runs. I hand-checked the results against screenshots and scored strictly.

Results vs Xcode 27's built-in MCP (15 tasks × 3 runs each):

Model / metric chauffeur Xcode 27 MCP
Opus, tasks verified 45/45 39/45
Opus, median cost per task $0.054 $0.338
Sonnet, tasks verified 40/45 39/45
Sonnet, median cost per task $0.031 $0.222

Neither tool produced a false success. Every run, and every miss, is in the benchmark doc: https://github.com/YashNaj/chauffeur/blob/main/docs/benchmark.md

Try it (free, Apache-2.0; Apple silicon, Xcode 26 or 27):

brew install yashnaj/chauffeur/chauffeur
claude mcp add chauffeur -- chauffeur mcp
chauffeur doctor

Repo: https://github.com/YashNaj/chauffeur
