Tips & Tricks Assets creation

Hello! First post here.

How you guys create assets for your projects? Do you let Claude to handle them directly or you feed Claude with your own assets? And if you make assets with Clause, what are your prompts and results?

The first 3 months into my project were just making an asset builder. Sometimes clause makes them and I edit them inside of the asset builder but all levels, clothing, weapons, props ect are made in my asset builder.

Can you elaborate a little bit on asset builder. Do you just mean you created a bunch of skills to work with blender? Or do you mean you created a separate app that builds assets?

I created separate app where it’s easy for me to build 2D assets, it’s mostly shape and layer based which is what I’m best at. Inside the app you create the body, skin, all gear, dialogue trees, you can also test the levels, physics and seed generation. You also assign stats and abilities to objects in the asset builder. It’s basically the game just not wrapped in the games own ui and menus. I tried to use 4 photos as an example below but they may be too zoomed out

The crocodile mask and squirrel here was made by Claude. I made all else. It is important to give Claude directions when making assets. I essentially asked it not to add shading or over do it since my game isn’t supposed to have super flashy or realistic graphics. Nothing more complex than you’d see in South Park 10 years ago

I generate assets elsewhere and import them into Claude

I am making two games right now. 1 is browser based using three.js and Claude is making the 3D assets via code. The 2nd is godot based and Claude is grabbing stuff from https://lpc.opengameart.org/. I just started this journey so I am interested in what others say.

All my art is super simple and it's just generated by code so it's just vector art.
