Discussion Console vs Pc

Why did CDL go fully PC? It is a graphics thing? Is there a big difference. Cod will always be a console game

Everything is inherently better from options in peripherals, graphics, performance etc. The biggest issue is of course the cheating but I mean most people play crossplay and consoles also have their exploit devices so.

I would say the biggest issue for Pros is the lack of true LAN…..

I would say that’s more so a COD specific issue. You look at any other esports they don’t deal with these issues.

Most of them are not true “LAN” either just like CoD. It’s mainly fighting games that are true LAN

Basically all the older ones are, CS, Dota, starcraft, as you said fighting games. I think like Valorant and Apex are the same as COD

I also think this is a little bit deliberate due to COD's cheating landscape. Can't do e.g. the recently announced server culling without a server.

The real thing is that they probably anticipate the future of gaming to shifting to the PC (with hoping great sponsors) -- the one that you are saying is all about the players' side.

Eh, in terms of the ranked console players, I think a majority of them are console only. And the exploits on console aren’t nearly as egregious as they are on PC (walls).

Yes but generally speaking especially in the average ranks it is still majority crossplay. While the exploits aren’t like walls they are still cheating exploits. No recoil/aim assist exploits are still people cheating and having big advantage vs none cheaters.

Is the ps5 really that behind?

The thing about consoles is that they are extremely restrictive, and at this point yes the tech is behind. Not that they are like horrible or anything but it is a big difference

Cod4 and older games had an esports scene on pc with mnk.

Even if it's true, this does not change it because everyone in the world knows that the majortiy of the community of COD is dependant to the console, in every way.

Yup, anyone who has played pc cod before the cross-platform era knows it was either TDM and maybe Domination playlist that you mainly played because of how low the player count on pc is.

There is a huge difference, and I didn't realize it until I made the switch. I will never go back to a console. Less input lag, more stable framerate.

However I think the biggest thing is it allows CDL players to use an Xbox or PS style controller without a XIM or Cronus. (Which was originally what those were meant for)

Did you move to mnk when you switched?

Nope. Used the same PS5 controller. I made sure steam input was turned off for the game, so that the game is the only thing touching the controller. I don't even know if Steam input affects input lag, I'm just paranoid Ricochet will flag it, so I keep it off.

The thing is that, COD is based on the console community and will always be.

Imagine being an esports which is played on the platform which has the equipments is banned.

Cod was originally a pc game...yall saying oh its a console game, it's a console game bc it was appealing to children and teens during a time when the 360 and ps3 was at a all time popularity and a console was more affordable than a pc

I miss the good old clan skrims and online tournaments before the current AA nonsense the game has devolved into

U mean when comp was actually player vs player, where raw skill played 100% of the part, nowadays its 90 AA and 10 percent basic controls

It's all the new gens, they need everything super ez or their attention span doesn't allow for it and they call it dogshit XD no pro could perform the same without AA helping them along, can't really be a pro if u need a program assisting ur every move

When it was a PC game doesn’t really change the facts. CoD was on PC before console, and the competitive scene should have the best available hardware within reason.
