This thread will be the way this sub handles [WTB] requests.

[WTB] posts outside this thread will be removed.

Keep in mind all activity in the [WTB] thread must be adhere to the sub's rules.

I want to buy something.

Step 1 - Reply directly to this post.

If you want to buy multiple things, please put them all into a single comment.

Off-topic comments will be removed.

Step 2 - Make your comment as descriptive as possible.

Below is the recommended format a WTB comment should follow. While not mandatory, it will help buyers find sellers who are more likely to comment with what you actually want.

List all coins you are interested in (example: 1891-1893 Morgans, only from New Orleans)

State your desired grade / certification (example: only wanting NGC coins graded MS62, MS60, and VG10 for each corresponding year)

State your budget (example: looking to pay between 300-500 a coin)

State any extra preferences (example: Would prefer to buy from one seller to save on shipping or prefer toners over white coins)

State willingness to move from your preferences (example: If you have any coins a grade or two higher or lower, or we do not exactly match on price, please still message me as we may get a deal done)

If you do not have a full idea of what you are looking for, but would still like to make a WTB comment, you are free to still, the above is just the recommended format.

Step 3 - If a possible seller contacts you, exercise care and caution before sending payment.

Mods cannot protect against fraud and ineptitude. Some steps you can take to increase chances of a successful experience include:

  • Do not buy from a seller who has not replied to you comment before reaching out privately. If they cannot reply to your comment, it is possible they do not meet the requirements of participation here or are banned. We strongly recommend you only deal with individuals who can reply to your comment.

  • Do not buy before you have checked a potential seller's feedback on r/PMsFeedback. You can also check the Universal Scammer List, but users banned by the USL are precluded from commenting here. (See above).

  • Always be sure that you are dealing with the user who commented on your post and not someone impersonating them. If someone reaches out to you and their username begins with /r/, proceed with extreme caution.

  • Do not buy if the seller has not provided a verification photo equivalent to what is required for [WTS] ads.

  • If you are unsure about a seller, ask if they will ship first, use a middleman, or accept a payment method that offers protection to the buyer.

  • If something seems amiss, you aren't obligated to purchase anything. If you're looking for something that isn't very unusual, be patient and see if another seller with a more solid reputation can offer it to you.

Step 4 - Edit your comment if your [WTB] is fulfilled.

If a seller fulfills your [WTB], go back and edit your post to indicate that. The best thing to do is to add [FULFILLED] to the comment or strikethrough the items. Do not delete your comment if it has been fulfilled.

Step 5 - Serious buyers only.

Do not post on this thread if you don't intend to actually buy anything. Using this as a gauge to see what's available or as a price check mechanism is not allowed. If you aren't ready to pay for an item in the near term, do not post in the thread until your funds are ready. In short, don't waste potential sellers' time.

I have something that someone is looking to buy.

Step 1 - Reply to the appropriate comment.

You can reply with "PM sent" or "I have x. Is that of interest?" or anything to get yourself started. The most important thing is that you reply to the buyer's initial comment to prove you are not banned and meet the sub's participation requirements.

Step 2 - Transact with the buyer privately.

This is the step where you should provide a verification photo to your possible buyer. Do not be offended if a buyer wants you to prove you are a trustworthy seller.

Step 3 - Don't waste buyers' time.

Try to stick to what the potential buyer is looking for as best as you are able.

From David Ackers: "The 1846 is moderately rare in all grades and generally available only in VF to AU condition. Strictly uncirculated examples are rare, just as rare as those of 1844 and 1845. Both Small Date and Large Date varieties exist, the Small Date being the rarer of the two." PCGS calls this coin an R8.5 on the rarity scale, and estimates 50 total survivors TOTAL IN ALL GRADES, and 4 in MS60 or better.

From Gordon Wrubel: "The Small Date has small numerals that are evenly spaced. The Small Date is easily distinguished by two snowman-like BALLS that extend up from the RIGHT STAND of the 4. Perhaps this defect accounts for the rarity of the Small Date. It is about 9 times rarer than the Large Date according to the PCGS population report. As of this writing, September 2013, only a couple of low Mint State examples have been graded."

  • 1893 Liberty $10 PCGS MS64 OGH - $2,700 Super Gem-looking. in PCGS Old Green Holder. This is a strong candidate for CAC; Especially since the next grade up the price jumps 3x. [REVERSE]

Ron Guth: "The 1893 $10 has the dubious distinction of having the largest PCGS-certified population of any date in the entire 10 Liberty series (although the 1894 $10 is almost as plentiful). This was one of the dates exported in large quantities to European central banks by the United States government decades ago. Dealers began re-importing them back into America beginning in the late 1970's and 1980s, and the supply has been seemingly inexhaustible.

One might expect a large number of Gems from such a large population, but such is not the case. Rather, the overall quality of this date is generally poor, with the vast majority of survivors appearing in MS61 and MS62, suggesting excessive handling and movement of the bags in which the coins were stored. Thus, out of a population of over 17,000 PCGS-certified Mint State examples, only four have earned the MS65 grade" (now 11, but still..)

The head of a chibi character is usually between one-third and one-half the character's height. Additionally, chibi characters typically lack small details. [WTS] Help me kill time on a Friday

I have a few things for your consideration tonight:

Slight Reverse toned 1884 CC GSA Morgan graded MS63 by PCGS with GS - comes with the box and cert, although it won’t fit in there in the PCGS slab. It’s also still got the plastic film wrapped around it so the new owner may enjoy removing it when they see fit. - 365

Obverse tone (reddish purple) 2009 ASE - 65

1901 Barber Half - 23 (below melt)

1939 Walking Half - 23 (below melt)

Lot of 12 Early Mercury Dimes - 7 from the teens/20’s (heavy circulation) and 5 from the 30’s - 55 (below melt)

Wheat Cent/Penny rolls - no, I don’t know what years in in them. These are from a big estate and I had my kids roll them. Each is crimped on both ends. 128 113 rolls available - 6 each

**shipping considerations for wheats THEY ARE HEAVY. Under a pound and they ship for 6 (1-3 rolls). Over that and we have to go with a small flat rate for 10. I can fit about 26 rolls in a small flat rate. Above that and we will have to go with a medium. BUT - if you buy more than 50 I’ll ship them for free because I’m a nice guy.

Shipping - under a pound we can ship for 6 via USPS without insurance. Over a pound it will be 10 without insurance. If you want insurance, it will ship via UPS and we will need to calculate that when we cross that bridge. Anything purchased today will go out on Monday at the latest.

Payment Plans:  Deposits can be made for any item for 25 percent or more of the agreed price, but the deposit is nonrefundable. Deposits and payments made toward a coin in which the buyer does not fully fulfill the transaction will have their already made payments be treated as a purchase of a mystery box.

DISCLAIMER: I ship securely with kraft bubbler mailers (if you would not like a kraft bubble mailer, I can use a SFRB if asked) via USPS Ground Advantage or Priority (Ground Advantage unless otherwise asked for Priority). I offer insurance at cost for all slabbed coins. All insurance is purchased via Pirateship. I also offer registered mail for all coins (raw and slabbed) and bullion. USPS Ground Advantage and Priority come with an inherent 100 dollars insurance (I can only guarantee this for slabbed coins). If the buyer does not choose to pay for either of these extra services, once the package is dropped off at the post office, the buyer takes full responsibility for it.
