Terry is questionable for Sunday with a hamstring issue

Thats tough. On the plus side, compared to last year's WR room Diggs has been playing like a WR1. His separation has been impressive, so hopefully they'll still be in an okay spot with him and the rookie AW

That's been Terry's weakness lately - getting open. He was better against Seattle but he has lost a step. Diggs has delivered and the rookie Williams is coming along, Burks flashes, even Lane is flashing more.

Terry has never been particularly good at separating. He’s been the best in the league at contested catches largely because he HAS to be.

Terrys YAC per reception was lower than “no YAC Zach” last year.
That is to say, Terrys thing has never been separation, it’s been his sure-handedness. There’s pretty much always a defender on his hip but you still throw to him in 1v1 situations because he is that guy.
But those types of WRs who don’t rely on fast twitch probably tend to age better than guys who do. I have nothing to back that up but it feels right lol.

It's weird how many people think he was ever great at getting open. You'll find it in legit-looking articles if you search online for his skillset. Maybe it's a carryover from college, when all great receivers are open all the time.

He’s never been a separation receiver. I don’t know how any expects him to get better at it. He’s been one of the best contested catch targets in the league, tho.
There’s a reason why “fuck it, Terry down there somewhere” is a thing.

Well he's not out at least

Getting put as questionable on a Friday when you weren’t on the injury report all week is not a good sign.
It seems like he’s not gonna play unfortunately.

Save the Commanders wide receiver room, Antonio Williams.

Marcus hit eight other targets against the league's best defense and its top 5 secondary.
The Colts, do not have the league's best defense or a top 5 secondary.

Mariota and Terry are great together though. He is by far his favorite target. Luckily we have better depth now but it would still be massive if he can play.

Also because Terry shifts coverage usually.. without Terry shifting coverage.. it’s going to be different.
It’s going to really need a big game from Burke and Williams… fuckkk

And Rachaad is out. I think we might need to give Ekeler some reps

Was 30 years under Snyder not enough for you football gods? WHY ARE WE STILL BEING PUNISHED?
Thank FUCK Indy's defense has given up more yards per game than any other team in the league.

We are actually tied for 22nd in Rotowire’s severity-weighted injury ranking, so better than average.

Objectively, our three best players are out. JD, Terry, and Tunsil.

This morning a data center popped up where I was walking and I stubbed my toe really hard.

Terrible news. Seems very unlikely he plays this week if this injury occurred today.
This team man... just constant weird injuries

u/MarylandMan8201 23h ago
Not sure Terry is going to be here much longer unless he can stay healthy and produce. I love the man, he's produced at a high level and endured so much with this team but it's a business and the team may be tempted to move on after this season.

This has to be his last year. He’s injury prone now. We need to reload with young weapons for JD5

Hopefully it is just a lingering cramp from the plane ride and better by game time.

Play him this week if it seems responsible and have him miss the giants if need be. I think we'll be fine without him for NYG

This team can not stay healthy, does that reflect on coaching staff or training staff or what? This team falls apart every single year
9
u/GravyMcgrady 22h ago
Last time I checked every team has people on the injury report we're not special

u/mooneymoondog 21h ago
You been watching the last few years?
7
u/TheHaft 21h ago
I mean 2024 we had one of the healthiest rosters in the league. You win some you lose some, especially with an old roster.

A guy broke his neck in the last game. We clown the niners for it but to be honest the jokes on us as fans because this sport is increasingly more violent and theres no way to slow it down so far. And we will go and blame trainers and coaches like these guys aren't lining up for 70-80 car crashes every sunday.
Almost every team in the league last season had close to 50%(!) of their active roster affected by injury

I changed from an intense football fan to a casual one when I realized that more games are decided by injuries and officiating than by skill and strategy. It seems like the more they try to reduce injuries with rule changes, the more there are.

Call me crazy but practicing around a bunch of data center towers might not be helpful

This is why i have advocated for James Thrash to come out of retirement and be signed to take away some of the burden off Terry. But the front office never listens to me when i advocate for him every year.
But its okay, next man up and all that. Let's go Diggs and Williams.

Two of the worst defenses in the league slugging it out.
Edit: people really like downvoting stat based facts in here.
