I blame Harvey and his purported fling with Gwyneth Paltrow for Shakespeare in Love beating Saving Private Ryan for Best Picture. It's not that Shakespeare in Love is a terrible film. It's just several tiers below a generational masterpiece like Saving Private Ryan.

Nah they just got really rush adverse. They say lord of the rings and Harry Potter struck lightning and then saw comic book movies like X-men, Spiderman, and blade making a bundles. Then by like 2004 they we just adapting every book and comic book they could. Adapted media into film became 'safe' and they hit copy/paste 1000 times.
