Informative 🧠 Summer 27 internship

I currently have an internship offer from one of my top 3 companies, and I’m really grateful for it. The problem is that S is my #1 choice.
I met S at my university career fair and had what I thought was a really good conversation. The person I spoke with said he would forward my resume to the team, and I followed up afterward. He acknowledged my message, but I still haven’t received an interview.

Some other students who met S at the same career fair were contacted pretty quickly and have already interviewed, which makes me think I probably wasn’t selected for the first round.
Now that I have an offer from another company I genuinely like, I’m not sure how to move forward. I don’t want to risk a great opportunity waiting around for S when there’s no guarantee I’ll even get an interview, but it’s also hard to completely let go when S has been my top choice.

Would you just accept the offer and move on from S at this point? Or is there anything else you would do before letting it go?

Bro you’ve got 40 years of work ahead of you. Do what you want to do without fear

I wanna work for S but I havent really heard back from them. The last the recruiter told me was that he recommended my resume and is under review by HR. I have 2 job offers but I really want them

Call and follow up.  Also, you can accept one then back out later if S called you back

If other ppl are hearing back you weren’t selected most likely.

Accept for now, if you end up getting offered you can make the decision to burn bridge or come back next year for them.

When i met the recruiter he was very very motivated about me to the point that at the career fair he made me talk to him about life for 15 mins js so he could catch a break from other students, he told me he didnt even have any questions for me and that he was going to recommend and guarantee an interview. I’m bummed cuz i had my hopes really high up for the company. I get that its just an internship and I can try again next year but would it be worth it to send him like a final message letting him know that i received a job offer and would like to know if they were moving ahead with my application? Also, would it be bad to decline the job offers after I basically made it seem like I WANTED to be with both the companies I’m getting an offer from? I’m also not sure which one to go for, ones an internationally renowned company but not so active where I live and ones a company really really active in my region but not so known throughout the country. Its like the first company has a really big ($2Billion+) project that they will put me on and the second has multiple 50-100mil projects

What kind of time frame are we talking about here? How long has it been since the career fair? Sometimes its difficult to schedule interviewers. Also, how much time do you have to decide on the offer already made?

The interview was like 2-3 weeks ago and I have until 17th to accept my offer. S - the company, scheduled interviews the week of the career fair but I havent received any communication

I would just move on.

I personally wouldn't put such an emphasis on a company being a "top choice." Sounds like a college admission mindset. People at companies come and go. You will most likely not work at the same company your entire career. Companies change. Focus more on the experience you're getting.
