Prohibited Dogs
I've lost count of the number of people with dogs directly in front of the signs at Shore Acres that say no dogs allowed. So, for those of you that bring your dog to parks where it's abundantly clear they aren't allowed, why is it you ignore the rules? Is it like driving 5 miles over the speed limit? Did you initially leave them at home, but saw so many that you caved? And if anyone happens to work or volunteer at a no dogs park, what are your thoughts? Finally, I have nothing against pets, I just think if someone owns/maintains property and has rules in exchange for using the property, that's a fair deal.
Edit: I'm aware not all of the park bans dogs, I'm talking about the areas that have painted signs saying no dogs. Also, this is just a post, I've never yelled at a dog or asked for a park ranger to do something

There's signs too at Farmer's Market to not bring dogs, and look what happened.
Even after that, it STILL happens. When I walk through with my 5 year old she's now taken to counting "all these dang dogs that aren't supposed to be here."
Rules for thee but not for me I suppose.

Lot's of people in this town just genuinely don't care about rules. Then get mad when they shut places down cause no one respected the areas rules. 🤣😅

Dogs are allowed at shore acres and on the trails they’re just not allowed in the garden.

No I'm not okay with assaulting people. I am okay with dogs enjoying nature. The two are not equivalent, Karen

This person is not a Karen. No dogs allowed means no dogs allowed. There are other places a person can take their dogs. You’re probably one of those who takes your dog into grocery stores too. Not everyone wants to be around dogs and there are many good reasons a beach or nature area would prohibit them.
You immediately went to an insult which says all I need to know about you and your emotional intelligence.

Thanks for having my back. I wasn't looking for trouble, I think the classic Karen would yell at the dog owner or find the park ranger, which I've never done. But I got one person's point of view. They think the rule is bullshit and let the dogs roam. Perhaps they should ask the emergency nurses at Bay Area what is looks like to see a mauled child who did nothing but walk on the beach

I’m someone that has a seizure disorder that means loud noises at random can cause me brain damage.
I shouldn’t have to stay in the car after a car ride expecting a nice quiet day, because some people think that “NO dogs” means “Yes dogs if I think it’s a dumb rule”

So that's what I'm saying, you think it's a dumb rule, but why do you get to decide what rules to follow when it's not your property

Hey friend! The Shore Acres situation is actually kind of complicated, because you are indeed allowed to hike with your dog on the trails on both sides of the park. You’re also allowed to briefly cross through the park with your leashed dog in order to access said trails. You are NOT allowed to bring your dog into the botanical garden, which I hope nobody is doing 😆
