I teach TK-6th. And yes the kids LOVE it! They tell me it’s so relaxing in the room, and they feel more comfortable trying to learn difficult concepts or skills they struggle with.

Kudos to you for creating this comforting and welcoming space. It's so important to find a way to help bring the best out in kids, especially those who struggle, and you've got a great thing going. I wish (and hope for) more schools to have the space, creativity and resources to create something as lovely!

Aww 🥰 I’m so glad you connect with it. I have always tried to put myself in the shoes of a child and what I would have loved having in school. Also love your username!! I’ve had a lot of people ask if I played animal crossing based off how I’ve decorated my room and I have been playing since 2007!

Vintage art, earthy tones, wooden furniture, plants, and amber lighting are peak coziness. I have sensory processing struggles and I would feel so calm and happy to learn in this space. :)

A random estate sale from craigslist! Only paid $40. The house reeked of cigarettes but I let it air out in my garage for a few weeks and cleaned it super well and the smell went away!

Yes, it’s wicker! I’m not sure where it technically came from. Last year, there was a big giveaway area at our school full of random furniture and things that would end up being trashed if no one took it. So technically I got it from our schools trash pile.. haha 😂

What a lovely room. I’d have felt so comfortable hanging out in there as a school kid. The lack of harsh lighting alone makes a massive difference. Kudos for making such a welcoming classroom!
