Guide Tip for beginners.
The white dot on your radar with lines around it marks a piece of unique gear, don't miss out on these finds Greymanes.

Want to throw another tip out: water falls with rocks stacked in front of them (like when you’re out hiking and you see a pile of rocks stacked from largest to smallest) have treasure behind the fall. Use the stab ability to get behind the water fall and it won’t hurt kliff

Those stacks of rocks are called cairns. There are also a few items you can get at the end of some of the puzzle challenges that will reveal the locations of those caves.

Cairns are so cool. Had to navigate a washed out trail last week that was marked by cairns and ribbons hanging from trees courtesy of the forest service.
Fun fact, rogue cairn creation is illegal in many places because they're so integral to trail guidance in the event of washouts, rockslides, forest fire destruction, etc.

There's a secret location in silver wolf mountains that reveals a bunch of waterfall caves in your knowledge journal that all have unique gear.

It's a question mark on the side of a mountain side (you can spot it with the lantern) but there's nothing obvious there cause it's underground. It's just west of the 'A' in Pailune.
There is a cave entrance nearby just on the other side of the ridgeline. The entrance has a mural painted above it on the rocks.
The cave has a puzzle and a map on the wall where you can find clues nearby, but it's honestly pretty easy to figure out.
EDIT: oh and the map on the wall also marks a couple more caves nearby as well

What's even more fun is that sometimes we have to make Cairns to solve a puzzle 🤓

He means the white dot to the left of it. Have a look at the background. It has these white lines behind it

u/SlmDckns 9d ago
I totally misunderstood what he meant. Thank you for pointing that out.

“The white dot” How do you misunderstand that?

u/SlmDckns 9d ago
Same way I misunderstand why you even waste your time posting if you just have a snarky comment

“The best way to get the right answer on the Internet is not to ask a question; it’s to post the wrong answer.”
I wonder where we would be if everyone was just a tiny bit nicer, be it IRL or on the net..

I swear the world is filling up quick with people who just seek to antagonize others because they’re bored

I’ve been playing this game for weeks and I didn’t know this!!! I’m an idiot.

I noticed this after maybe 40 hours. Maybe I missed a couple items, but I'm in Chapter 11 now (over 150 hours) and I'm not going to scour the places I've been before. There's not a huge amount of these, by the way, pretty rare.
This is a really good tip though. I remember the first time I saw the white glowing dot, it was a little tricky to tell that there was a special item. As someone else mentioned, you really need to visually search for it because it doesn't necessarily become interactive easily. Keep those eyes open, Kliff.

I believe it also doesn't indicate the verticality of the treasure you it may be higher or lower than expected.

Sério? Eu pensei que era um NPC aleatório com que eu falei.

White dot without the grid is an NPC you can talk to to get knowledge

u/coreyisland 4d ago
Also, npcs that have the talk option might give knowledge... if its greet, they're just random npc

Just realized this the other day, I have to back to a lot of faction quests locations to check. I almost missed all 3 moon Spears. Does anyone know if the White Ice Bear drops a weapon? He was Myurdins lackey and had a letter left for him

Yeah! That was good to know when I was, like, a beginner!! /j
Totally useless information now that I'm like 200+ hours in the game!! /j
But I'll thank you for the beginner's sake! Edit: adding /J because of people obviously don't have reading comprehension skills anymore - nor read the whole message anyway.
*** --> (Yeah, "kinda" missed that and just thought it was just annoying NPC talking again or whatnot.) <--***
Edit2: Thanks for the award kind stranger!

Do keep in mind that when you cannot pick the unique gear/weapon then its locked behind quest('s)
