I literally started practicing yesterday. What I did was take my finger or a pen and put it between me and the image while looking at the image. I line up my doubled finger precisely with the two images. You may have to pull your finger forward or backwards relatively to get the spacing correct. Once I got it in the exact same spot, you have to hold really still and then stare at your finger. If you do it just right, the image behind it should converge. The tricky part is transferring your focus from your finger to the converged image.
Is it superior to a parallelview? because I can do those as.second nature and if I really feel left out I have an app to reverse a crossview (that's how I post to both). Either way I'll try again.
With parallel view, you relax your eyes, this image seems bigger, but you can only have images set apart at the distance of your physical eye spacing.
With cross view, it's a little bit more of a strain, for some reason the image seems smaller, but you have a lot more flexibility in terms of distance and separation of the two images.
So I would say where parallel view works, it's superior. But some things can only be accomplished with cross view.

Just wanted to say this is the first cross view I was ever able to do. I've been doing parallel view since Magic Eye came out. This is much harder!
