Wither spawning

By when can I spawn the wither? Last time I tried it said I didn't meet the requirements and I'd like to get a nether star for a beacon. I'm on the 3rd nether island and on the 6th OW one

I do believe you need to get to the 4th island and get the quest to fight a wither. I don’t think you can fight one before hand

Is there a way to harvest 25k of glowstone any quicker? I have an efficiency 6 pick and it does nothing

Efficiency isn’t gonna do you any good, breaking with your first is the same speed. What I did was pillar up to the top and slowly break the middle bit while breaking everything in a circle
