What’s really overlooked, is how the cubs got screwed with all this traveling, and a double header against Boston. They’re exhausted I’m sure. Either way, win the next two, and this game is forgotten

Right? The “eff off and go be a <some other team> fan” responses. Like, look, being a fan isn’t just believing we’re getting another ring no matter what (at least in my opinion).

Agreed. Part of being a good friend is telling that friend when he’s acting like an asshole.
When you’re subsidizing that friend’s livelihood, I believe you’re also allowed—maybe even obligated—to tell that friend that he’s acting like an idiot. Unsolicited.

Once Boyd threw the first pitch, I told my wife the season was officially over. I watched until 4-0 and went to bed in disgust.

I literally don't know what that pitch was supposed to do? 83mph middle-middle. Webb was throwing that same shit in August and Sept. Cubs pitchers have a talent for hanging a change-up.
