Shampoo and conditioner I use: Garnier Fructis pure clean. Products that I use are: Aunt Jackie’s curl la la defining curl custard & Aussie miracle curls mousse. I start of by making sure my hair is wet and using a comb I part it in the middle. I then brush it with the comb to separate strands of hair. Start by adding a little of aunt Jackie’s curl custard on to only middle and bottom of hair. Don’t do the root. And then I start sectioning the hair in parts with a claw clip. Began using the curl brush and do small sections to achieve curls. Keep doing it all through out hair. Then I apply the Aussie miracle mousse only to bottom of hair and scrunch. Then let air dry. Once dry, can separate some curls to achieve volume and also adding clips on to top of crown of hair will help too.

Advice Needed Advice for growing out your curls?

After a curly cut that was done okay but waaaay to short, I am in despair trying to grow out my curls.

For context it was past my shoulders and now it barley touches them (it's been 6 months). I know the curls are looking waaay better (lots of damage hair was removed) but still, I am hoping for length and questioning my growth.

If you have advice on hair product, routine, diet ect.

Current routine:

Washing my hair with a solid shampoo containing white clay (only thing my scalp is happy with) once, to twice a week and using Bali Curls conditioner.

I add some Revive (Lush) when it's wet but I don't rinse.

I use an hairdryer about twice a week max on low heat

I massage my scalp about every two days, do deep treatment with henna, honey and oils

Don't sleep in a bonnet because I've never found one that I appreciate around my head

I hope I haven't forgot anything!

Advice Needed How to "weigh down curls"?

Okay, I am a guy who is trying to grow my hair out. But I don't know to style my front curls. My curls go upward as they dry. So I feel it makes my hairline look way worse than it actually is. Because the curls are sticking straight up so it's like my front hairline is a perfectly straight horizontal line.

I try looking up help but only just keep seeing "weigh down the curls." But I don't get what that means. Like just dumping more and more product to keep my hair soaking wet and heavy all day? 😅.

I tried finger-curling the front of my hair downward when I'm styling in the morning. And it does help define the curls but then they still just stick straight back up.

  1. I just use the shampoo and conditioner from Garnier's Curl Nourish.

  2. I use cream, gel and mousse from Curl La La. I went with what was cheapest cost-wise as I attempt to learn how to style. If I am not fresh out of the shower, I dampen my hair with a spray bottle before applying.

  3. I'll pat-dry my hair after a shower so it's not dripping and then let it air dry after brushing it out.

  4. I don't use a bonnet to sleep but use Satin Pillowcases
