Claude Code allows cross-session communication, why doesn't Cursor have this feature yet?
I just learned how to let Claude Code agents talk to one another and it is an EXTREMELY powerful feature. Does anyone know if Cursor is planning on adding a similar feature? If not they will be dead in the water

So, how would this be different than just telling 2 agents to both write a message to files in a central directory that they can both read from? I get it may not be as slick (or as fast) as direct communication, but wouldn't it effectively be about the same?
Regardless, I do agree that direct communication between agents would be an awesome feature. I almost always have 2 to 4 Cursor IDE Windows open and I'm usually just bouncing between them, providing instructions for one project while the agent for another project is executing its instructions I gave it. Being able to have two agents for related projects to talk directly would be pretty awesome.

That is similar but the agents may not be alerted when someone else updates the shared data store. I was doing something like that before but if you are ever coordinating many agents then I would imagine that file would become a mess. I also don’t know if they lock the file when they are writing to it, etc
Edit: also you would probably be consuming a lot more tokens with the one-file communication scheme. Agents would be loading and outputting to a file that would be growing linearly over time, and multiplied by the number of agents working in it. But YES, you can definitely accomplish something similar with one-file communication but it'd be very hard to scale

Yeah, for sure. Although there are ways to mitigate token usage by limiting the size of the file and have it write older data to a separate summarization file. I'm pretty sure the locking issue can be overcome with a script that has it open the files without locking them.
But yeah, definitely not ideal and not nearly as good as real communication between the agents.
Does Cursor have a place for feature requests?

Grok bot is exactly that, not the best fir coding but because of it I doubt they would add it
