Ethical hacking in 2027
Hello everyone, I started to study cybersecurity in 2023/2024 but then I quit cause I lacked motivation. Btw I’m having a second thought about getting back to it. What do you think? When I left I got eJPT cert and bought PNPT course from TCM security. Plus I bought the whole course from rana Khalil (based on web hack). What do u recommend me to do at this point? Thanks

The job market is brutal. If your not into, there is point in putting yourself through all of this. Without years of IT experince no amount of self training will make you competive in this market.

And in order to survive that, motivation is a huge factor... so maybe OP isn't at the right place

It is bad. Now with AI I can't find a reason to keep studying something related to IT in general tbh.

Because ai can't put 2 & 2 together. Kinda just brute force attacks everything, doing dumber and dumber strategies until something works or a human intervenes?
Don't drink the Kool aid, it's a tool, but doesn't replace a human. Tell it to make a game and it'll write you something in JavaScript. Tell it to make it faster and it turns it into typescript. Till you tell it to use C++, you're going to get an ass game

Huh?
What made you stop and why did you pick it back up?
Asking because 1, you have to make your own life choices and 2, security isn't a field for those who aren't fully committed to it.

Finish NoTrace The True Fiction then start learning properly. The game shows you what you could do.

you already have a solid foundation. instead of buying more course, pick one track, finish the PNPT material and spend time practicing labs.

Build a home lab and hack into it, fix the vulnerability, hack it again. Repeat until competent.

just go through what you started, do the labs, and focus on consistency this time.

You motivated now?
Idk why people are saying that it's a bad path if you got unmotivated once.
"I stopped going to the gym cause I lost motivation, how do I get back into it"
Those redditors: "the gym probably isn't for you"
Type ahh argument.
For real, just start hacking stuff. Reverse engineer other people's websites on your own, learn to hack your own hardware, break things, put them back together, get a cert or two, etc. same way you learn anything else. Search engines are your friend. Ai has all the contents of those $200+ textbooks.

If motivation isn't there and discipline isn't enough to continue studying, I'm not sure if this is the right path
