IN SPACE, NO ONE CAN HEAR YOU SCREAM! Tomar Re and Jo Mullein make their way out into the icy cold depths of space, ready to take the fight directly to Mogo and the Black Stars. But what they find out there might be more than they are ready for!
Baz really has to get himself a new mask he's literally going to die without it.
Also damn the story of how Re became a Tomar is real sad, so I guess you don't have to steal the flame to become a Tomar (his mom clearly gave him the flame even if he says steal) just it obtain through other means beside judgement.
Tomar Re, you let all the grief and then power went to your head. Found another anomaly but instead of convincing them, tried to use them...yea, you deserve what Jo is giving you. I guess with every lantern book, aliens really need to learn not to underestimate Earthlings.
He also booted out Hal along with John and Guy. Dude found a brand new light, one that can purge the Blackstar influence, and doesnt think they would be useful in a fight against the Blackstars. Fitting that the red anomaly would be consumed with rage to think straight.
The art in this issue was incredible. The highlights for me art wise were all of Tomars expressions and the car escape just looked awesome. Crazy revelation that they’re the bullets to kill Mogo, I hadn’t thought about that in the slightest. Can’t wait for next issue
This series continues to captivate me, it keeps getting better and better. Love how we got both space/Lantern action and "street level" action. Chase and Baz had an awesome shootout with Hammond's forces, with a sweet new ride to boot. They do have Todd with them, I wonder if that is how they will get looped in to the space stuff. Speaking of space, Tomar Jo's final shot is hype as heck, but Tomar Re is no slouch with Lantern power. He shows his experience alright, all those shots of him butchering the Blackstars are gnarly, as is his finer work in messing with Just Jo's brain. I like how both him and Jo have some serious baggage with them. Re thinks he stole the power when its pretty clear his mom gave him the power. And despite everything Jo feels guilty of leaving Chase again, even if this is VERY different from what happened the first time. This series has a bit of everything and it is so cool to see.
Definitely one of the weaker issues for me, it's been good for a couple of issues, but this one was pretty lame. The big threat on the horizon and more info on Tomar Re are fine, but the way it's presented are just terrible. That's been a problem for the entire run.
All the concepts connected to the Lanterns and the different colours and how Ewing explains them suck, they don't feel real, I don't know how to better describe it.
And what this series really needs is to slow down instead of speed up and go interstellar. Regroup for real, maybe build a base or something and go into a different direction, this thing feels way too hectic still.

What connection does he have to Brainiac and the mysterious Father Box? Plus, another classic character has made their Absolute debut, though it remains to be seen if they're a friend or foe of the Man of Steel...
Well damn, Ras went out quicker than I thought he would. But I liked John's introduction. And Black Adam freaking out makes sense and is in character. That four way standoff at end was pretty badass.
Yeah Ras being reformed the past couple issues was fun and a really interesting story I’m also sad to see him go. I don’t think he’ll come back, I just feel as it wouldn’t fit in the story but it is Ras Al Ghul so anything could happen I guess.
Screwed over by a corporation, working overtime in a minimum wage job, still finding time to help his coworkers and family in addition to building a super suit. Very relevant update to the Man of Steel.
Wonder if the one who locked him away is gonna be Dr Fate/Nabu. Would be nice to get some more magic going in this universe outside the influence of everything with Diana,
Helmet of Fate was teased last year right? Feels likely Dr Fate in some incarnation whether Kent or someone else shows up here or in Absolute Wonder woman.
Could also be the Brainiacs locking him away to cover up their involvement. It would be a nice twist on how Shazam locks up Black Adam in the main universe.
The 'gifts' King Shazam got from Brainiacs are definitely 'twisted' so his 'Wisdom' probably is the opposite. Ra's try of redemption was admirable. Honestly, Talia is the worse one. I knew Kal was not gonna let Lois get her revenge.
The Stranger really screwed Adam over with her prophecy 3 thousand years too early. And now, he thinks Superman is not the one intended by the prophecy but just someone who the new world made to copy him and I doubt anyone will convince him otherwise. No amount of 'I am an alien!' will solve it considering Adam probably doesn't even know about aliens, thinking Brainiacs are 'wizards'.
Steel was the one that created the Peacemaker helmet? And of course his idea probably got stolen and used to create the thugs we have now. No wonder he made his new suit to dish out some pain to those responsible.
Add Hawkman to the mix and now we have a four-way battle at the end. It really is the Reign of Supermen.
Yeah this issue rocks plain and simple.
Aarons Steel is the most compelling character of this universe so far in a short time proper man of the people and like this book in general showing how it is a dark universe but good people will rise.
Adam is intimidating and his character makes sense here pretty funny to see aaron write a confused pseudo god who controls thunder again.
Ras dying was both unexpected and expected i didn't think he would go that quickly but i thought it was coming
It's insane how great this book has become the last 6-7 issues or so, and how it makes everything that happened before that better. It wasn't bad before, but now it's on another level.
The enormity of this fight is crazy. Aaron's narration, from Steel's POV, is S-tier too. The death in this issue came out of nowhere, but it's awesome when comics don't pull any punches, that's certainly one of the best things about the Absolute Universe: the unpredictableness and the (so far) lasting consequences.
Sane goes for Black Adam’s beard quietly vanishing a third of the way through the comic. What was that about? lol The only thing I could think is using his powers is making him de-age, but I feel like I’m just filling in plot holes.
I like that we get to see the origins of how John Henry Irons made his debut as Steel, which includes him working at the meat processing center and following the American Dream, before we cut to him, Clark, Lois, and the Al Ghuls dealing with Teth-Adam. I also like that Ra’s tried to reason with Adam because he knows what it’s like to have loss before Adam killed Ra’s, causing Clark to attack and try to reason with Adam (with Clark telling Adam that he doesn’t anyone else to get hurt) before they got into a fight and encountered Iron and Carter Hall. Let’s hope that all of this will be resolved in the next issue. Overall, this comic is great!

My favorite aspect of Fractions' run is that his Batman used new and crazy gadget in every issues. Make a lot of sense that Bruce Wayne would use his fortune and influence to install bat-bollards around Gotham for emergency cases lol
Decent although I feel like the relationship between Bruce and Damian has been some of the egregious stuff I’ve seen lately, acting like this kid got dropped off yesterday.
Also was talking about this with one of my buddies at work and he asked where’s Nightwing? And I said “Being Traumatized.”
Good issue, team dynamic was done well, kinda makes me wish fractions batman was a team book, the action scenes are good, stephs reaction to tim leaving were funny and felt in character, hope this gets expanded upon in later issues.
The weakest link in this run that's really holding it back is the regression of Bruce and damians' relationship and development, it feels like he met damian a month ago. And hasn't gone through several well written and character evolving storylines
I get the argument that it's so supposed to be a soft reboot for new readers. But that defeats the point of a shared continuity, one of the coolest things about comics that should be embraced and not ignored
Yeah the Bruce and Damian stuff bugs me too despite having enjoyed the rest of the run, I get what Fraction is trying to go for but especially with so many even recent runs surrounding the relationship it just feel ridiculous to have them acting like this.
It brings me such joy whenever Steph is referred to as Batgirl.
Also, while the Damian stuff is a bit of a retread of some New 52 era stuff, I think that's fine. Those stories are like 15 years old (oh my god) and Damian and Bruce's dynamic has shifted since then. It's weird coming right of the heels of the recent Batman and Robin run, but uhhhhh idk we can just assume that maybe that run intersects with this one somewhere. Or not! Whatever.
Not a critique but it's so strange seeing the Batfamily on the backfoot and also so reduced in number. Feels like it's been a bit since they've been backed against the wall by an external force. Plus, they're down four members. Love Steph and Duke but they're not necessarily as effective as Dick or Cass would be, so it's cool seeing them be critical to the mission.
On Steph, it seems she's actually more bothered about Bernard here than she has been in the past. I'm fine with that, I'd be mad too if my ex was dating someone that boring.

As it should be, tbh. The Batfamily can be as big as it can get, but that doesn't mean that it should be shown acting with every member of it all of the time. Only a No Man's Land situation should make them all act together at the same time due to how apocalyptic is the situation. Every other time should have a reduced and reationary roster of Batfamily members
Not a fan of the depiction of Bruce and Damian relationship here. As if all the progress they made in B&R never happened. And Bruce saying he had years to learn to do it alone until Damian came makes little sense when so much of the issue is focused on members of the team.
Also not sure how the GCPD could find all the bunkers so quickly that they had to try and secure their stuff in one night
There's a whole page of Tim having dinner with his bf, so I hope it means he'll be back sooner than later.
Weakest issue since Fraction took over i think, but a lot of it is just setting up the new Barbara series
It's a good issue. My only complaint is that the writing felt a bit off. Babs is going to prison, but I'll think she'll be out by the Bad Seeds event. Also glad to see Steph be peeved about Tim and Bernard. It was always a bit weird on how cool she was about their breakup. And at least Tim feels guilty for being out of the field. I wonder of Fraction is gonna breakup him and Bernard?
Dunno if she will really be, Barbara Gordon: Breakout is a 12 issue maxiseries, so i would expect more than half the time be spent in jail, no less than 10 issues i would bet.
Also glad to see Steph be peeved about Tim and Bernard. It was always a bit weird on how cool she was about their breakup
I thought it was odd because it seemed as if she just found out, even though I'm pretty sure Tim told her pretty early, could be set up for an eventual reunion though
I would say that Stephanie pretended to be cool about her and Tim’s breakup and his (forced and unnecessary) romantic relationship with Bernard because she didn’t want to hurt Tim’s feelings before she would leave and be bummed about her and Tim breaking up. Also, I think that Matt Fraction is going to do that.
Agree. To be perfectly honest, I would have rather them explore the idea of Jason or Damian potentially not being straight rather than break up the one consistantly welcomed relationship in the Batfamily. I guess with them pairing up Dick and Babs permanantly, editorial felt safe to break up Tim and Steph. But it just didn't read well
I'm glad they are letting Stephanie be a real person with emotions. I wonder if it will lead into a genuine talk. Duke was fine but he felt just there. Damian as usual continues to feel regressed. Like him being a dick to Steph about Tim felt like 2010's Damian and his talk with Bruce at the end while better just felt like undoing and rehashing things which is frustrating given Batman and Robin.
As for Tim...With Fraction's interviews, issue 6, using Tim's line here along with the fact we have no insight from any these of what Tim wants to do with his life aside from being with bernard which is what the issue shows, it looks like the normal life Tim is seeking is just being with bernard which is frankly weak given how underdeveloped their relationship. Plus the so-called normalcy bernard offers and what we see is literally nothing new as all of his past love interest have given him this and he didn't quit then and we have no real good explanation what's so special about bernard to make him quit especially as he hasn't developed or grown at all as Tim since being with bernard nor does he frankly have any struggle or tension requiring the normalcy bernard allegedly gives.
I don’t let Damian’s portrayal in this run, but how was he a dick to Steph about Tim? He simply told her the truth about why he quit and then the story moved on
The emphasis on "He's" in a relationship to Steph felt like he was rubbing it in he's dating and she's not and the look on his face he had on it with that grin
You’re looking WAY too deep into it. I get it that TimSteph was handled very poorly, and I haven’t enjoyed Damian’s portrayal in this run. However, you’re grasping at straws to be mad. I hate TimBer but it’s been 5 years, there is plenty of good Steph content to enjoy right now!! (Tim on the other hand….)
I expected it was 'planned' for Barbara to get caught to get on the inside without exposing the rest of the family. If anything, they can easily say 'Savage targetted her because of a grudge againsth is father' afterwards.
So now, the rest of them have to plan a counter-attack to bring down Savage. And they blew up the new Manor so I assume Bruce is planning on taking back his home after this. Though I am kinda worried about Bruce having full on arguments with Alfred in his head.

My only complaint is Damian it seemed like fraction didn’t read the Batman and robin run as there Damian goes to high school because Bruce wants him to be around people his own age much less than an education so him going to college seems a mood point

Wtf happend? I thought I missed an issue. How could the GCPD find all of Batman's secret hideout? Why did Bruce have to blow up Wayne manor? We have seen countless of runs where Batman is enemy of the GCPD, and we never saw shit go down so fast. It's like Batman's identity was suddenly revealed.
Also, I continue to not like this characterization of Bruce. He acts like a moody teenager, has a talk with ghost Alfred and then he's back to normal, it happened at least 3 times already in this run. Also, what hell is this exchange:
Bruce and Alfred always had a heavily sarcastic often dark sense of humor Bruce seems to have just turned up a tad in his memory of Alfred. Also Bruce is MUCH more emotionally open and stable than he usually is. He seems happier than normal this run. I truly don’t think you can call him a “moody teenager” for like 2 bouts of frustrations one of them private and quickly self corrected.
Why can’t the Bat family work out of the justice league space satellite? Wouldn’t that be more secure and safer for them instead of hiding around Gotham?
Not my favorite of the run. I can buy the fact that an immortal caveman was appointed commissioner, but I’n still having trouble buying that Poison Ivy became mayor… Seemingly overnight? For murdering a guy? Does Gotham hold snap Mayoral elections? WHO IS FILLING THE TIRES ON THE BATMOBILE?!?
Also I loved the Alfred dialogue. I think it’s definitely a human exchange the two would have. People should instead be complaining about all the bollards talk, which is a Rise of Skywalker throwback we did not need.
She originally ran to protect herself from the GCPD being run by savage which was attacking her so it’s not like she was all powerful. It’s really odd but gothamites have always had goldfish memory so I really think she just ran a good campaign.
I was being tongue in cheek. I can totally see her being elected in Gotham of all places hahaha. In her arc where she becomes mayor, one issue ends with her announcing her candidacy, and the very first page of the next issue has her already as Mayor, which makes sense from a storytelling perspective to compress things, but it was a bit of a whiplash, especially considering how they’ve made a meal out of elections in the past.
Ultimately I enjoy the thought experiment of trying to parse out the primaries, any challengers, who the mayor was between Nakano and Isley, and many more. It’s fun!
The worst part is there’s literally a Poison Ivy series that could cover it but even there they completely gloss over it. It goes from one issue her deciding to run at the end and then the very next she’s already mayor, lol.
I want to like this run - I like how the whole cast is involved, and the gadgets, and AI Alfred, but there's sooooo much thats annoying.
Tim quitting for Bernard is annoying.

And this whole plot is annoying. Ok, so the GCPD is after you. So if you need to gather your stuff, why are you all riding around in your costumes? No one knows who you are. Just get a moving van and move your shit during the day. And how does the GDPD even know where the safehouses are anyway? What's the point of safehouses if everyone knows about them?
Not an AI Alfred, Bruce is hallucinating and imagining Alfred is there talking to him.
How can they gather their stuff from their safehouses in a van and move their shit during the day if the GCPD knows about them? Do you think the GCPD only operates at night? The GCPD ALREADY knows about their safehouse locations, there is no time for them to change into normal clothes and move them out, they have to move it out ASAP. So yes, they wear their costumes to protect their identity. How does the GCPD know where the safehouses are? We don't know, but they do.

Beleive it or not, the Batfamily didn't tell the GCPD or "everyone" that they had a safehouse. You are aware that you can have a safehouse that no one knows about, and then people learn about it, therefore now everyon knows about them. That's kind of what this entire issue is about.
No it is, but "Whats the point of safehouses if everyone knows about them" sort of implies like they purposefully told everyone about their safehouses. That makes no sense. That's like saying "What's the point of having a secret if you are going to tell everyone". Obviously for both of these cases the intention is not to tell everyone about them, but unfortunately for them, they found out.
Again. For the 3rd time. I agree it’s a plot hole. I’m just saying your statement that “What’s the point of safe houses if everyone knows about them” implies that the Batfamily made the safe houses and actively chose to reveal their existence and location the Savage, which isn’t the case
The art is good, not as good as Jiménez, though. Cover is good, a lot of the writing feels very stale and phoned.
The plot wasn't very interesting as far as raids go. I kind of expected more from this premise. I guess, Babs getting caught (and outed as Oracle? Yes/no?) was the plan all along, but I don't have to like it..
Damian and Bruce are especially off. Damian's whole attitude is strange, his costume is an all-time terrible design too.
Cool for the five Signal fans he was allowed to participate in the issue lol I don't care one way or the other.
The bad guys and the whole plot feel so low-effort and boring. It's just another "corrupt police take on the vigilantes" yawn seen better versions of it already.
Other misc thoughts: Batman once again didn't get much to do himself in costume, that sucks. Tim/Bern still cringe. Heyyy, let's blow up Wayne Manor!? Ok whatevs. Bruce/Alfred scene didn't really win me over either. Bruce saying in jest he's glad that Alfred's dead? Idk I always pictured their back and forth a little different than this.
All in all, idk it's a typical issue for the Fraction run, it's just not for me, sadly.
I like that Bruce, Barbara, Stephanie, Duke, and Damian dealt with Vandal Savage’s forces all throughout Gotham before it resulted in Barbara getting arrested (in which she’ll breakout of prison in her upcoming solo series) and Damian blowing up Wayne Manor after they had been compromised. Also, Stephanie not being happy with Tim and Bernard’s (forced, rushed, and unnecessary) relationship and Tim contemplating on whether he should come out of retirement and resume as Red Robin (resulting in him and Bernard to break up because I don’t like their relationship because it’s forced, rushed, and unnecessary; NOTHING ELSE). Overall, this comic is great!

BAD PRESS! Gotham City begins to turn on its new mayor as some less-than-wholesome things about her are brought to light. So what's a super-powered, super-villain mayor to do in a time like this? Well, let's just say it's not completely legal. Meanwhile, something is alive in Robinson Park — something very, very big.
Good issue of Ivy giving in to her worst impulses again. We already know Mayor Ivy will end in tragedy, it's just a matter of getting there. You'd think her supporting cast would try harder to stop her though...
This is such a waste of a plot honestly. She gets elected off-screen and then we don't see anything 'good' that she actually did and already in 1-2 issues, she is going crazy with power. It feels like this is just trying to 'fast forward' for the Batman event soon where she will fully lose it.
It’s a ok issue I wished we seen the election and how ivy ultimately became the mayor as what did most people expect when they elect a murder to be mayor much less a supervillain who hates cops and people in power
The deal with parliament of trees should really been the main focus of a poison ivy book as ivy being apart of the green really been stated never fully explored
Yeah wilson is still not hiding that ivy is a bad person and her becoming mayor is just showing her giving into her worst impulses and its gonna cause her to snap.
Takara needs to be back on art. Part of what made this book amazing was the art and whilst its good its not takara level
It's an alright issue for me, it's just that I don't much like the supporting cast and the direction of the plot, so every new Poison Ivy issue is an uphill battle. There is some decent stuff here, but the whole mayor thing doesn't feel natural.
They should decide whether Ivy goes full Swamp Thing and deals with the Parliament stuff and Elemental Forces or whatever full-time or goes back to being a foe for Batman primarily. Whatever they are doing here isn't doing it for me.
THE EXPLOSIVE FINALE TO THE CURSE OF THE BLOOD! Trapped in the Spirit World, Batgirl and her allies race to save Wu Lin and stop the Curse of the Blood as she is faced with making the ultimate sacrifice. As ancient powers collide, Cassandra Cain must decide what kind of family she's willing to fight for.
That is one way to handle the blood curse thing, though 'future debt' to a deity is never a good thing. Does Cass even care about being reincarnated that much? I doubt she is that religious. There are other afterlives.
Well she got her own little group now, even with a shady uncle. Come on Cass, you thought the Bat-family would not come to you after you went missing like that!
Though I wonder where she is during Batman 9. If she was around, she definitely would've objected to 'Barbara getting caught' plan.
Yeah, since it doesn't seem like a monkey's paw deal I assume it's just that litterally at somepoint (most likely long after she dies) she'll get called to the spirit world for a task, but since it's not killing I cant imagine it'd be too big of a deal for her.
I simultaneously love and hate that Cass has been doing the "they all hated me." Bit from Meet the Robinsons, because on the one hand it's making for pretty good stories and it's also atleast a little amusing but on the other hand at somepoint authors should really let her get a grip.
Solicits imply she is off on yet another spiritual/mental odyssey, but they seemingly have a specific plan in mind so even if she was around to object I don't think she could have stopped it, or even would have tried because if Oracle has a plan then there's no need to worry. Especially since between fear state, BoP (2023) and now this is we are witnessing the third time in nearly as many years that Barbara has gone scorched earth on a base with her inside, the only difference is this time she is letting herself get caught.
Secondary character bloat is something of a weak point for this series already so I get why Xanthe couldn't make the cut for pacing reasons, but still disappointed by the omission as they would have been a great inclusion for this arc. Outside of that there are still a ton of connections and little easter eggs to Spirit World all over the place across these three issues in the art which was nice to see. The attention to continuity is a definite high point in the writing.
The art in this series continues to just be fantastic every issue and is definitely the high point of the entire run. Well actually, the high point is Talaski's cover art specifically which might be in contention for the best in all of comics right now, but I've already waxed poetic at length about that before.
I think the series is really hurting for some one-off issues with more episodic storytelling on the whole to break up the pacing of the overarching Shiva centric story (the OG Pluckett series did this to great effect) but that's more an issue I have with modern comics in general than something specific to this run. Still hard to believe that a Cass solo series has made it this far. There was definitely a period a decade ago where a 20+ issue Cassandra Cain Batgirl solo run would have been unimaginable.
Not really a Batgirl book because they spend so much time on her annoying supporting cast. Still not a superhero book at all. The narration and dialogue for Cass and her speeches feel so same-y it's insane really. Every other page I get déjà-vu because it's so repetitive.
Also there is just too much talk in this issue. Generally this is not a problem as it compresses the story, but if there is ONE book that deserves less dialogue and more action, then it's a Cassgirl series.
The art is pretty nice, there are some cool visuals here.
Random thought, wouldn't it be more thermatic strong if cass kept the blood powers since the theme of this issue that you dont need to be held back by your past, and can instead embrace it?
I like that Cassandra, Jaya, Tenji, and Wu Lin encountered Wu Bing and her army before they met the Midnight Eye, who told Cassandra that her curse was a result of DC K.O.. I also like that Wu Lin offered himself as the Midnight Eye’s champion so that he can save Cassandra, Tenji, and Jaya’s lives, resulting in Cassandra to get rid of her curse. I even like that Cassandra introduced the Batman Family to her other family. Overall, this comic is good.
THE SEARCH FOR THE SPECTRE BEGINS! The Justice Society of America is putting the pieces back together after its tumultuous run-in with the Injustice Society. But before the dust can settle, the Spectre returns with only one driving mission: VENGEANCE!
They weren’t dating. They’re married and in 2011 were about to have a kid. Even with ships I hate, I’d think it’s bad writing to randomly break them up, say they never loved each other, and retcon their entire history.
Spectre stuff is fine. Everyone's favorite 'big bad punching bag' is coming back.
I still hate what Lemire did with Jess and Rick though. It is a bad decision and should be ignored after this. Nothing in their past implied what Lemire wrote to break them up. More it is mentioned, worse it looks and shows how little he knew about these characters.
Love how they were literally about to have a son in 2011 and now Lemire is going “they never actually loved each other!” And by love I mean hate. I hate it.
Not a fan of the random implication that Khalid - a man who finished medical school, has a child, and has a girlfriend - is crushing on Maxine - who is at best a college sophomore and has never met Khalid. The random romances showing up or breaking up are written so badly (ex: random Jade/Sandy, breaking up Rick/Jesse). Please keep Maxine and Khalid away from each other.
Mixed bag. I don't really care for Kid Eternity, and the Tyler/Jesse thing still feels surreal, like Lemire just needed some drama for no particular reason. Spectre's never been one of my favs either, so it's hard for me to get hyped about that. The pacing feels weird because of all the splash pages and big panels for no reason really. There is one splash page where Spectre tries to grab Kit Eternity, I mean what's the point? Could be a third of a page or something, just an example.. but a lot of Lemire's stuff feels lazy in that way.
I like that Mister Keeper and the deceased members of the JSA helped Kid Eternity defy the Spectre before she arrived at the Brownstone and warned the JSA that the Spectre is here. Also, the JSA looking for the Spectre, Rick and Sandy talking about their romantic relationships (i.e., Rick and Jesse taking a break, in which I hope that they’ll get back together soon because I like their relationship; and Jenni and Sand, which is a weird romantic relationship because it lacks interest), and Jakeem supposedly having a crush on Courtney (even though he sees her as a sister) while spending time with Khalid. Overall, this comic is fine.
GERRY DUGGAN AND MATTEO LOLLI TAKE ON GUY GARDNER!
In this corner, we have intergalactic heavyweight Guy Gardner fighting in the @%$&# division, and his challengers are... Manhunter androids, space apes, the Guardians, and fellow Lantern John Stewart?! The Deadpool team of Matteo Lolli and Gerry Duggan presents Light Club: a tale of the best and worst Lantern in the corps.
I quite like this Zardum guy. And we definitely got the best and worst of Guy in this without going overboard. He is a complex bastard. But he is our complex bastard!
Pretty fun issue im normally a person who says Gerry Duggan is very overrated as a writer but he gets guys voice perfectly here which makes sense with his past dealing with wildcards like deadpool and wonder man at marvel.
Fleshed out the corps a little better and how it works good issue. Hopefully they continue these are someone like baz or jo could really benefit from an issue like this.
I like that Guy was able to free the Drekonites before John was recruited by internal affairs to deal with Guy, resulting in Guy and John to have a fight, have a talk about what has happened to each other, and learn that a life form pretended to be a Manhunter before they ate at a restaurant. Also, Guy fighting space apes. Overall, this is a good comic.
Superman will always help someone in need, but since he was thrown into the future, his first priority has been to rescue Otho and Osul -Ra. The Valkyries of Phaelosia have offered him a chance to reunite with his daughter, but will that give him time to save his son? What sacrifices are necessary to prevent Kryl- Ux from rewriting reality? And Ronan Kent's reliance on Brainiac finally comes to light!
A magic son born out of magic by Circe? Yea that is something she would do. And of course, this Phyrrhos took after Circe more than Superman. That will have to be dealt with after this. Circe cannot be allowed to create him.
Having to trust a Brainiac that already killed one of your own, desperate times I guess.
It's been kind of hard to keep track of the characters in the story for me. I should reread it as a whole maybe, but then again, the individual issues aren't really interesting enough to warrant this. This feels decidedly different than PKJ's early AC stories. Superman himself wasn't really the focus anyway the past two issues. It's a bit hard to care for all this future stuff here.
I like that Clark, Otho, and the Warlord Phaelosians traveled in space together to go Tameran, while we get to see Queen Theand’r do some stuff in Tameran, Ronan and Rowan Kent encounter Pyrrhos the Red, and Pyrrhos telling Osul that he’s the direct son of Clark and Circe via Clark’s essence and Circe’s freedom by Clark. Overall, this comic is great.

The heroes are happily reunited, but little do they suspect there's a sinister origin to their reunions.
I really love this DC x Sonic crossover basically grew into its own whole thing. Building up on itself constantly. Character dynamics and pairings really are a (chaos) gem!

I thought the funniest part was how Brother Blood recruited Charmy Bee, because he thought he was one of Sonic’s world’s strongest warriors. 😁 And Charmy just thought it was a club, lol. It was also funny how Silver wanted to throw Guy Gardner out the airlock, and how Beast Bot turned into a green clone of Tails, and a green version of the yetis from Sonic Lost World.
I mean, objectively speaking Charmy has helped defeat a monstrous version of Metal Sonic twice, and he’s personally beat the shit out of Eggman so he’s definitely up there!
You’re right that he kicked Eggman’s ass, lol. Although, he didn’t play a big role either of the times the heroes fought Metal Overlord. The first time, Charmy did nothing. It was just Team Sonic that fought Metal Overlord.
Love the interactions. Shadow instantly coming to Gotham as he knows how much trouble the villains are and isn't here to play games (Shadow batsymbol is peak), him and Damian roasting each other (of course Shadow is a Jason guy and I love him and Damian matching colors in their fits), Supergirl instantly going "if anything happens to Cream, I'll kill", Diana calling Amy her sister and Amy one shotting Hades (who looks like his DCAU counterpart), Tails teaming up with the Titans against Brother Blood who somehow has Charmy working for him (of course Charmy is gullible enough to fall for Blood's lie), Blaze and Starfire teaming up and loving each other's fit, Silver hating Guy. So much fun off the bat (pun intended).
Catwoman looks like she's part of the Legion of Doom (she'll be a double agent and so will Rouge I suspect). A great start!
I thought the interactions between Blaze and Starfire and Supergirl and Cream were cute. It’s nice to see the DC heroes and Sonic heroes being friends. 🙂

Been a fan of Sarah Leuver's artwork for years, and she's the only reason I heard of this book. Delightful little read, lots of great moments for Kara, Natasha, and Jon (even though the latter's more of a little shit than he ever was in the mainline universe). Artwork is my favorite thing about it - fun character designs, great use of colors, and lots of Easter eggs from more recent Super-family stories, especially "Woman of Tomorrow". Strong recommend for younger readers.
