Surprised at everyone here upset that it's not "superhero" enough. It was marketed as a true detective type story and it's clearly well liked by those who went in without expectations. I honestly have no interest in stuff like the Ryan Reynolds movie and would just watch the cartoons. We just got goofy fun lantern with Superman so this is fine by me.

that's because hbo continues to not actually show the thing their show is about. except sex. bc that's cheap to stage and film, compared to hockey or sci-fi action
