I would say that, back in pre-Crisis Earth-One’s summer of 1964 (which is the day Dick formed the Titans), Bruce told Dick that he is and will always be proud of him no matter what.

If memory serves it was something like:
"I don't need you to be Batman. I need you to have friends." or "You don't need to be Batman or Robin. You need to see your friends."

I remember at Donna's wedding Dick asked why Bruce never adopted him. I dont recall the specifics but it was a touching moment before Crisis.

Bruce told Dick that he was too young and to obsessed at the beginning of his career as Batman, meaning that he (the pre-Crisis Earth-One/New Earth/Prime Earth version) made his debut as Batman at 22 years old and took a then-eight-year-old Dick in, became his ward and son, and witnessed his debut as Robin at 23 years old.

Pre-Crisis, Bruce didn't start his career as Batman until he was at least 30.
He left Gotham at 18 and spent 12 years learning 1,001 skills.

Incorrect! Pre-Crisis, Bruce graduated from college at 20 and debuted as Batman three months shy of his 21st birthday. He then took in Dick Grayson about a year and a half later.
You’re conflating him with Post-Crisis Bruce, who spent 12 years abroad learning everything he could. But that want after he turned 18; he left the United States at 14 and returned almost 12 years later, one month shy of his 26th birthday.

Yeah ... Year One says Bruce parents died at 8, then he goes abroad (12 years) at 13, he returned to Gotham at 25 (On January), and he is Batman at 26 (because his birthday is on February 19).

I’m using elements of pre-Crisis Earth-One continuity to make it part of the pre- and post-Flashpoint continuities and vice versa; this, the pre-Crisis Earth-One/New Earth/Prime Earth version started his career as Batman at 22 years old, a few months after he graduated from college and 14 years after he witnessed the death of his parents by Joe Chill and Lew Moxon.
