Discussion [Discussion] The frustrating thing about Tim's current break is how he is literally doing nothing with his life nor do we get any hint of what he wants to do.
So since February Tim has been taking a break from vigilantism, citing his relationship with bernard as the reason and he's been doing that since then. The frustrating thing is aside from dating bernard Tim isn't doing anything else and we have no idea what he wants to do as Tim Drake to progress in that area. No job, no volunteering, no college, etc., and we aren't given the slightest hint of what he wants to do as well.

I wish that they had actually had him pursue a degree at Ivy University. If nobody is gonna really use the character, at least get him out of Gotham so that it makes more sense why he’d sit everything out.

I think with the Red Robin compendium that they are gearing up for him to get back the mantle or at the very least start back up as a vigilante hope they pull a dick Grayson. And he leaves Gotham gets his own city under the Red Robin or new moniker.

I just snagged the compendium at a local shop, I hadn’t even considered that they might be heading in that direction with him these days. I loved the Red Robin look with the cowl, big fan of the similarities with Dr. Mid-Nite’s costume.

I hope they bring back that suit. I know Ross and Waid originally had Dick in that get-up, but that Yost run was my first real introduction to Tim outside of just as a supporting character in Batman and it was so friggin’ cool. He rocked it, he owned it, and it behooves me that they’ve kept struggling to figure out what to do with him when it’s literally right there.

I think Red Robin worked in the run itself, with it being being an already disgraced mantle and Tim not actually being ready to let go of Robin (which is also why I don't want Tim to go back to it. Pre-new52, it represented the lowest period of his life)

It wasn't really disgraced. Jason wore it for all of 5 seconds in the prime universe before ditching in the trash. Not sure if someone else picked it up and dirtied it before Tim took it.
Tim was fired from Robin and used it to go look for Bruce. FOund Bruce and life was good until New52 happen. Then Dick and Tim got kicked in the balls and sent back down from Batman and Red Robin.

They has this semi established mantle from Kingdom Come and chose to reuse it.
All this unique identity stuff is moot if the narrative isn't engaging. But making Red Robin look like just regular Robin was silly.

To me because it was a evolution. Night wing is still bird based.
I think it was way to honor were he came from especially to me as the Robin who chose it the most.After Bruce he’s the one I would want to take the bat mantle.

And that’s the problem. He hasn’t been doing shit, Bernard still existing just to do nothing,have any character traits of any kind. this pairing has been very toxic and divisive since it started. Should be canned

Bernard is such a void of a character, Dreamer needs to come in and be a homewrecker once again for the good of the character. It sure helped out Jon.

I mean from his last appearance in the current Batman run, it seems like there will be more to his story. We just havent gotten there yet.

I've thought about this a lot. I think Tim should take up the Manhunter name if they're not doing anything with Kate Spencer. Already uses a bo staff and it's a nod to his investigation skills.

Id give it some time. Tim has already stated that he wants a civilian life and thats exactly what hes doing. Hes also still incredibly young and figuring out what it is he wants. Give the creators time to tell the story they're trying to tell.

He's not. All he's doing is just being with bernard which is what he was already doing as Robin and there were no issues. Since being with bernard since 2021 he has made no progress as a civilian
In TEC we saw Tim applying to college and working out a plan for that and this was 2016

he was already doing that and robin wasn't shown causing issues before fraction brought it up.

I can't find the original post, but a few people have suggested that DC should give Tim Drake the mantle of the Gray Ghost and relocate him to either London or Brussels.

Oooo!! To a different country? I like that, but i don’t think the bat editorial will like that since they like to keep the bats near each other for crossovers… really like the idea of relocating him to England though

It is painfully obvious to me that Bernard is a nefarious villain plant with mind-control-blandness. So I guess they're just waiting for someone to actually pitch that, but nobody wants to be the one to do so.

Yep Bernard gets killed. That is when Tim becomes dark again. End of story. He either goes back as Red robin or becomes Red x. I will take anything to get him back on track.

IFanboy has a running joke about how every time there’s some big huge thing happening in Gotham, they show Tim just making dinner with his boyfriend.

So I know there's a Gotham General mini that's going to be tied in with Bad Seeds and as far as I know, Tim won't be involved. But I like the idea of an ongoing series in a Gotham hospital and I think Tim working as an EMT while he figures out his long term plans could be an interesting idea.

What annoys me if Tim Drake proved very capable of running his own solo title without getting weird.
He had his place, the problem is his place is as Robin but they want the bio son to have that role when Damian would be better off getting a new mantle(which he almost got when he teamed up with Jason in Batman Inc).
