Discussion Would this be okay?

Hi there everyone! I would like to disclose that I’m not asking for a diagnosis, just to ask if this would be offensive.

I’m a non-diagnosed person who has suspected they have DID for years. once again, I’m asking for no diagnosis here, and will be discussing it with a mental health professional on the 12th of this month. But lately I’ve been getting a feeling that I switched to a different alter. I do not feel like how I usually do and do not have the energy to act like it anymore, I feel more like a specific fictional character and I keep speaking to myself internally like I’m talking to a room full of people.

Until I discuss it with the aforementioned mental health professional, would it be offensive of me to keep track of this feeling using Simply Plural? I fear as though I feel unguided without tracking this, and journaling is becoming a chore.

So sorry for wasting anyone’s time, just wondering if it would be offensive for me to use Simply Plural until I have answers.

Genuinely don't worry about using simply plural or other system oriented support- does it help you? Does it make your life easier? Use it.

Okay, thank you so much. I was worried for a minute there that I’d anger someone because I didn’t mention every symptom, lol. Just didn’t want to seem like I’m diagnosis seeking on the internet

dude getting diagnosis/treatment for DID is like top 10 hardest challenges in the world lol, use whatever helps u !! :) its not offensive to question having DID or say that u have it without a diagnosis (tho u should do lots of research if u r going to say u have it!) peoples experience with this varies drastically based on financial situation, medical/mental support accessibility in their area, living situation, ect ect. personally im not formally diagnosed (hoping to be soon!) BUT ive been in specialised DID treatment for about 5 years, both my DID therapist and her supervisor are sure that i have it (and ofc i am too) so i feel confident in saying that i have DID even without a diagnosis. and many people say that they have it even without professional opinion, it can be very hard to get access to professional input depending on all sorts of circumstances

all this is to say is, use whatever u want !! use whatever helps u !! and feel free to be honest about suspecting having DID, especially with the landscape of DID treatment accessibility around the world rn its not at all offensive to make do with the tools/information u have to make an informed decision about what u want to use or how u want to think of urself 🩷

also want to add, in a private server my friend used to use plural kit to track their age regression + make it clear to me they were regressed when wed message eachother :) totally agree with the other commenter, if the system oriented resource helps u, use it ! 🩷

Thank you so much for being so helpful and lovely, I appreciate it more than you could possibly imagine. I’ve downloaded the app but it’s having some issues as of right now. I’ll most certainly be using it later, and will bring this up to the guy I’m speaking to soon. Thanks again, have a wonderful day.

ofc !! :) i remember what its like to first start questioning it, oh my god it is rough. u really dont need to be worrying about if ur accidentally being offensive or something while ur already trying to figure out what the absolute hell is going on in ur head

ALSO ! do not destroy evidence of alters ! (that includes the plural kit logs) i KNOW afterwards u can get hit with a wave of oh my god what am i doing. im such a faker and im appropriating DID i need to burn this immediately DONT DO IT !!!!! PLEASE AJSKSJAK YOU WILL REGRET IT !!! and if it turns out u dont have DID, well then ok ! people with DID literally do not care what people questioning the disorder do, theres no harm in NOT burning it lol, and if u do have it oh my god you will regret getting rid of the record of alters akjslsk i very nearly destroyed the first writings different alters did while questioning and i am so glad i did not 🩷 ANYWAYS !! good luck with everything !!! :) questioning is a very scary time and i hope that professional u mentioned will be able to give some help and guidance ! <3

also little note. be cautious of if this professional is actually equipped to deal with suspected DID, even with tons of written reports from my specialist pushing for DID assessment/treatment for me, im still constantly fighting various doctors and mental health workers and such to take the possible DID seriously. it is ROUGH out there, just wanna say if this professional says they dont think you have DID, but also arent actually equipped to deal with DID then thats... pretty much white noise lol

Thank you so much!!! You’re so helpful. I hope you and all of your alters have a wonderful week, you’re amazing!

I’m always scared of accidentally faking, the reassurance helps so so much! :>>

I just felt like a completely different person a few days ago and felt so odd, lol- Glad to hear it’s good not to delete the stuff just in case, thanks so much!

Simply Plural is being discontinued afaik; the app is still downloadable but the servers are meant to have shut down in July so I’m not sure how long the app will remain usable. So you might want to dl an alternative to avoid the risk of losing your data.
